    Hello all,

I have tried a couple of Kontakt guitar libraries. I plugged in an Alesis Q25 midi keyboard but soon noticed that the pitch bend does not work. I am not a seasoned user of Kontakt, but I did check that the on-screen pitch bend from the Kontakt GUI works. How do I MIDI learn the pitch wheel in Kontakt please? I have tried clicking and right-clicking on the GUI pitch bend to no avail.

Note that if my question is primarily in respect of a Kontakt library, I have tried to MIDI learn the pitch bend in non Kontakt VSTs (I tried Dune 3just now) and right-clicking on the GUI"s pitch bend wheel does not get me into MIDI learning mode either. So perhaps I am just getting the whole concept wrong. Mind you, I was just hoping that pitch bend would work as soon as my MIDI keyboard was recognised. No such luck....

    Thank you for your assistance.

I am using Kontakt 5 in FL Studio 1é on Win64

EDIT; for what it's worth? I did get the Pitch Wheel to work on Dune 3 by ensuring the midi port of the MIDI keyboard and the Dune VST were the same. That does not work for the Kontakt instruments.

Answering my own question here but this may be useful for others in the same position.

What works is setting the MIDI Keyboard MIDI Port to the same number at the VST Instrument. But in Kontakt, it is not enough to change the the port in the Kontakt GUI at the top (where it is usually set as Omni by default). In FL Studio, I set the Kontakt instrument MIDI port not on the Kontakt GUI but in the FL Studio wrapper settings. Click the plug and cogwheel icon and set the port in the bottom left section.

Let me know if you need screenshots.

    All the best

    Remi

Midi learn of pitch bender is not possible ! Pitch bender is a different type of controller compared to mod wheel, it uses higher quantisation. Are you on Windows or Mac ? I recognized in windows that you must have the midi keyboard connected before you start the host software, otherwise the midi keyboard is not properly recognized. I used a lot of different midi keyboards, but I never had problems with the pitch bender, did you try another midi keyboard ?

Thanks a lot for your answer. I currently only have the Alesis keyboard with me, but I will try another MIDI controller soon. The fact that the Pitch Bend cannot be MIDI learned is part of the answer though: I did not know that. Thank you.
