Back in September we announced that MASSIVE X would arrive in February. Unfortunately, when building such a complex instrument, things can take longer than expected, so we’ve taken the difficult decision to delay the release until June.

When MASSIVE X arrives, we’re sure you’ll agree it’s been worth the wait. In the meantime, we’ll be releasing more details over the coming weeks, plus updates and inside info from the development team.

 

Nice. I respect developers who take their time and who won't rush out unfinished products that don't work properly.

 

Thanks for the info, this is a standalone (vst etc) or a reaktor software?

 

im guessing its a reaktor vst, looks like the gui for all reaktor devices,

MASSIVE X is a VST, AU, AAX instrument, it doesn't run in REAKTOR or KONTAKT. Cheers.

 

That's good to hear. I was worried for a bit. Reaktor is really crappy for producing music (stability, preset management/recallability, cpu useage). I don't like the analog approach to the GUI though. Looks like a step back compared to Massive and Serum

 

As a Komplete 12 owner I got a £44 voucher as an apology this morning, went straight on a free expansion pack. Check your email guys.

I just hope old / previous massive soundsets will work with this new version too

 

MASSIVE X is an entirely new instrument, with new features, and a completely new sound engine, so there’s no cross compatibility between MASSIVE X and MASSIVE.

never really liked the gui of massive, now it looks more clear-cut somehow.

 

I'm torn. It looks nice, but too much like rack gear. Massive wasn't my favourite GUI, but it sure paved the way for many synths to come. I guess like many I just got used to it, hopefully this will be the same. I hate change haha

its hard to make reaktor5 engine better cause its like perfect...
