    Hi,

I've installed Beatmaker 3 on my older Ipad. Bought Betamaker 2 a few years ago and was thinking about to have the ipad as a sketchbook.

In the past i bought lots of apps that i never used.
I want to try before i buy cause im thinking to get an Ipad Pro when i have the money.

Was looking for a few apps but i cant find a lot of apps on the sistersite or any other audio sites.

Does some on here know of any good sites for audio apps for ios?

    Thanks in advance!

Yes did this Phoenix jailbreak for ios 9.3.5 but i bought a lot of apps previously like gadget beatmaker 2 nanostudio rebirth fruityloops tons of synths etc but never used them. Only Gadget and i use nanoloop a lot.

I've put Beatmaker 3 on my ipad with Cydia Impactor. I think you can install ipa files withouth jailbreaking.

last year at namm show they gave the app for free(i think it was for one week)maybe they do the same this year!
just look at the home page wen namm begins, the best is twice a day so you dont miss it.

there is a appstore on cydia very popular and there is also a home page with the same name ...just google for it,its not hard to find.

The price for music apps is negligible compared to the iPad Pro.
You don't need many, as you already have Beatmaker 3 which is something like the modern MPC including sampling, slicing, time stretching and many good built-in FX.
If you like Korg Electribes then Groove Rider 16 is your best bet (it even has a wavetable synth and sample import plus slicing and perfect MIDI Sync as slave).
If you like to work with REX files somewhat like in Spectrasonics Stylus or Reason, get Korg Gadget and the "Stockholm" addon which is in fact Dr. Octo Rex from Reason!

agree totally but the cunning thing with the low prices is you may end up paying a lot since every single one is "cheap" in comparison with regular programs. so I wouldn't say no to half price or giveaways if you just have to wait some days, even if the apps are low priced, small sums add up fast. :)

I've just checked what apps i bought.. Its a few 100€ on apps that i dont use. The only one i used on a few releases is Nanoloop.
Agree that apps are cheaper but there isnt a demo option. I also bought things like lemur touchable Cubasis. Not only synths but apps that are not mega cheap.
A friend of mine had the Ipad pro and we tryed some stuff on it with Cubasis and ios auv3 apps i was thinking to go back to my previous plan to make the Ipad my mobile sketchpad/studio/groovebox instead of dragging my Macbook in to planes traines etc instead of the OP1.

I've got a try before you buy Beatmaker 3 version from the sistersite but cant find that much audio music ipa files to try.

That Cydia appstore that Albert001 was talking about doesnt excist anymore.

And its realy try before buy like i also do with plugins. When i have a new Ipad im not gonna jailbreak it

The best places I’ve found to download iOS music apps (the “try before you buy" variety) for sideloading via Cydia Impactor (My iDevices are Jailed) are :
#1- www.iphonecake.com - they have the most music apps by far and are pretty good about keeping up with updated versions and most importantly keeping download links current.. There are two more big sites that basically have all the same offerings and they are www.appaddict.org and https://appdb.to -they both don’t update download links nearly as much however once in a while I’ve found certain apps on one site that the others didn’t have. The [k’ed] music app sections have been much quieter these days with barely any of the newer releases showing up (yet). Happy hunting- Cheers

I'm thinking of getting an iPad just to run Rebirth on the way.
Does the iPad 1 run it???

Oh yeah and by the way fetepilly before I forget again- If I understand what you wrote earlier in this post correctly you said your device is jailbroken correct? If so I believe you should have mimimal probs with your sideloaded apps opening correctly. On my jailed device(s) starting after Apple dropped iOS 11 sometime ago I was having problems with almost every [k’ed] app crashing/hanging upon opening, even some I had previously downloaded that had worked flawlessly before. I finally figured out it was a problem with the cracking tool(s) the crackers were using and/or inexperienced crackers who routinely started to codesign everything incorrectly. An older version of Impactor could’ve played a part in the crashing apps too I’m not sure. It all depends on the app and other factors but what I found is with like 90% of them if I resigned the app they would usually work. I use two free apps to fix the codesigning problem- RB App Checker Lite to see what is wrong and iResign to well, resign, LOL.. I think I got RB App Checker Lite from the dev’s website - you’ll have to search for this one but it is essential for checking for problems (also checks other things too) and iResign I found at Github. Just thought I’d throw that out there!

Hey Vader, I’m pretty sure it will run on a 1st Gen iPad as it is a very old app! On that note- unfortunately Propellerheads removed it from the Appstore sometime in 2017 because of an intellectual property rights claim made by Roland.. However I know I’ve seen it in one of the “alternative appstores” before, actually I think its possibly on the sister site...

The only app that gave me problems so far is appcake.
Only installed Beatmaker 3. I cant use any apps that support auv3 cause i run IOS 9.3.5 .. wanted to give that a try.
