The ones that are bad are the ones you use less often.

For me: G Media impOSCar, Korg.Legacy.Collection, Lexicon PCM, LinPlug Albino, Rob Papen Blue, Rob Papen Predator. But there are a lot of plugins that are not on that list I would definitely use as well. Example LinPlug Spectral.

And wow, there are some plugins on that list I haven't tried out in forever like Superwave, Vanguard, and Hypersonic. One of my favorite "oldies" on that list are the Expert Sleepers plugins. They are very different indeed.

But like mentioned, it really is about what someone would and wouldn't use on a more personal level.

These are all extremely old plugins from ~~2003-04. Some have newly updated versions. I wouldn't bother installing any of these 32bit plugins, but I would archive them if you've used them in older projects and might need to load those projects in the future.

An obvious one from the list that we don't need any longer is Native Instruments Traktor 1.0.6:dj:

I think it really depends on the genre your producing. You maybe want cool and different effects and filters if you're working with EDM, but that's not much the case for traditional human-made sounds (Indie, Rock, Metal).

Take me for example. I produce metal, old school and modern, if you ask me, my essential list would be:

    • FabFilter Total Bundle for most of the mixing
    • Valhalla for reverbs
    • iZotope RX for audio restoration, if needed
    • T-Racks Black 76 and White 2A
    • AA Taupe for tape emulation/sampling (maybe Sand, Pink or Gold, if I have enough money)
    That's all I'd need

If you, or "some member", require all the plugins listed, then something's fundamentally wrong with the way you work and you should probably try focusing on learning your basics better with the plugins that come with your DAW.

I've never used those so I can't tell, but the RX suite from iZotope IMO it's pretty much the most advanced you can go regarding denoising algos I think. Their controlls allow me to preserve the frequencies and transients while denoising 90% of the times

There's not much point in collecting digital dust. If you use the stuff, you keep it, if you don't then you get rid of it. If you need to ask random people on the internet if it's worth keeping, it's most likely not.

A0, Sinusweb, Silverspike, Steinberg are definitely shit. Except if you enjoy aliasing and ruining your audio in a bad way.

But there's lots of other usable VSTs in your list. I tried and tested about 99% of them. That's why I mentioned only those I thought were bad. The list is pretty good. Excellent actually. :)

In general, I wouldn't use anything with old filter and reverb code. Filters and reverbs have gotten much better last couple of years. And I wouldn't use old VSTi synths, unless they sound really unique, or you're just looking for such typical, recognisable VSTi sound.

Sonic Charge uTonic doesn't work. Timebombed. All the old releases of it timebomb. I know, trust me. Latest release from R2R works, though.

I hate denoising. It sounds like shit, robotic, no matter what. iZotope RX is the best denoiser, yes. However, I'm not ashamed of noise. Noise is fun. [or soul, if you will...] Noise is all around us all the time. We're living in a noisy world, especially in cities. Even during the night. So why is there so much discussion about noise? Like, this amp is better because it's got just 100dB of noise. It's ridiculous because there's always noise around you and it doesn't go down below about -70dB at all times. Puritans. Spec wankers. :P
