Here's a first playround with an idea i'm working on called Gimme Pope Your Honour

It's a remake of an old 80's Eddy Grant track called 'Gimme Hope Jo'anna if anyone ain't heard it

Apologies if it offends anyone or anything, but it's how I see it you know?

Let me know what you think, too controversial? Or, wtf say it?

I think it sounds ok, I wouldn't go as far and say its controversial though. Theres some truth in what your talking about and the song is sorta catchy.

Come on man, are you serious? Don't be a music nazi and hate something just because its not what your into. We need to respect each others works no matter how it sounds or what its composed of. :phones:

With all due respect : I'm onto a theory stating direct relationship between delay/reverb wet, voice layers to lyrics/composition quality.
This song is worst than catholicism and religion in general, and I don't have a high esteem to religion stuffs.

when you say anti-pope you are meaning anti moron. people like you and me go to work 8-9 or more hours a day, come home tired with a sore back and feet, can't sleep properly when our mind or body is troubled by weather, fatigue, and personal issues and then we do it all again and again and again. i am glad you got your own opinions cause all religion does is brain wash the innocent to do things someone else way. will this new pope make my lunch everyday? or pay my house bills even one quarter of the year it's a tragedy when so many countries are in debt millions and so many homeless...let's see what will be all over newspaper front covers tomorrow, and all over television and you will all make so many more killings in the years to come. not just financially, but musically also, i am certain.

so a Saint for me is much better then anything else of the kind. perhaps a song about Saint one day..we'll see.

My only critique: The tune went on a little too long for me. Not enough variation to hold my interest so by the time the last verse jumped back in I was already kind of spacing out on other stuff. Maybe try to cut it down to 3 minutes somehow? Comedy seems to be more powerful in short bursts unless it's a masterfully crafted long running joke/bit...which is very rare.

 

I was hoping for Papa but apparently his pope application was rejected.

It's not really meant to be a musical masterpiece though, more a statement if you know what i mean?
