    OK.

    I just need to create 2 MIDI-Tracks and Route them to A Drum-VSTi .
Need to track / trigger Kick and Snare (as MIDI) in real-time along the rest of my multi-mic'd acoustic drum kit.

How can I achieve this ? Keep it simple :)

Not actually using, just testing out ... and yes, it seems to work out all fine, just a "getting to grips" phase @ the moment

EMagic (a German-made software) was bought by Apple back in 2002 and yes... it used to be a software that was available to both Windows and Mac users. It was NOTHING compared to today's Logic Pro X, so don't get yourself all worked up. Emagic Logic doesn't even come close to Garageband which is Apple's entry-level (but Pro-sounding) DAW. He has an old-as-fuck Windows version that was re-uploaded to the sister -site earlier this week...

Uh-oh, I wouldn't say that. Of course LPX is more advanced but I doubt Garageband is better that the old Logic Platinum 5 on Windows. LAP5 already has ES2, EXS24 mk2, EVP88, EVD6, EVB3, EVOC20, the powerful environment, full MIDI synchronisation, full MIDI editors, many fantastic built-in audio plugins...
It's still a very capable DAW that even runs quite well on the weak Intel ATOM.

Lots of amazing tracks created on logic 5. There was something special about it.

Garageband does that and more... it directly integrates with and loads into the current version(s) Logic Pro...

I think the exs24 wasn’t updated to mkii until v5.4 or v5.5. So, v5.3 is just to inferior for what is needed today.

@Zergei72 I think you'll actually create 1 MIDI track and then split your kick and snare to two tracks later, if that's what you want. If they're on different MIDI channels?

Anyway, I think you'll need to create the links to route from your MIDI input channel to something like the MIDI monitor in the Environment window, and from the MIDI monitor you can route it tho any channel strips you want. You'll want to show the MIDI monitor as a channel in the Arrange window too.
It's easy. There's a reason that Logic is so awesome over the last 20 years. Above comments don't know what they are talking about! It's funny.
edit: just had a thought; I hope the VST (not VSTi) is in Logic? If it's an external VSTi on your system, you'll need the equivalent of JACK for pc too.

Also, just found this vid. It's pretty much the same in Logic 5. Mostly from 4mins in.

it actual works fine, i tried 5.5.1 in windows xp/7 but the GUI is just ancient, but the ES2 and the other synths alone are worth it.

its to bad Logic was bough by crapple and made osx only. otherwise i would truely use the synths in Logic. but anyway, i dont want to start a fight, it happened that way and nobody can change it.

but you have to either pay or run a hackintosh, not worth it anyway.

there is logic 5.5.1 which has good stuff for being that old.

Apple bought Emagic in the 2002. So it actually is the same "Logic", just like15 years older…
