I was sifting through old projects and found a folder with just the stems, no project remaining and its from at least 2013, possibly older. It was a perfect thing to happen upon because I blew my last mix attempt and this was just the perfect thing to start practicing on. Hope you all enjoy.

 

Really like this, something I would probably jog to. Chill but uplifting, the vocals are a nice touch. I liked your last track too, I don't think you blew that mix, the cool melodic elements were just a little too low to hear clearly. This one has a lot of compression happening but it thumps and I like

 

There's not a whole lot of compression going on actually, well not by a compressor I mean. Theres a moderate amount of saturation and the limiter is doing all the heavy lifting, like a thirsty camel carrying a fat sheikh across the Sahara, thats what all the thumping is about. :D

Thank you for the kind words on my last track, however that mix is not up to par nonetheless and will have to be redone. Thanks again for your thoughts.

 

Thank you very much for your thoughts and I'm glad you like it! It was a very clear sounding synth however it had a samplerate reduction effect that had a very screechy high end that killed most of the other sounds at around 9 to 12 khz and I got rid of it only by cutting out that band and distorting it so much that some new high end would be audible, now that I think about it I could've split up the bands and distorted only the problem area but I liked the gritty mess I made out of it. :D

 

nice track, BUT the levels are nasty and need changing, im on headphones and hear alot of clipping, otherwise the track is good

 

Thank you for your thoughts. Some elements have alot of saturation and might sound like clipping or are you hearing peak distortion for the majority of the track?

 

Lovely track... Very uplifting and calming at the same time... love the use of vocal samples... The sidechained main synth seems to overpower the other elements imho... Good work!
