After opening some of my old projects I suddenly found this little error. It comes up every time when loading the projects. I don't know this file and I never have heard of it aswell. Is there maybe someone that could help me with solving this little error?

Thanks in advance by the way!

    Check if the file K4IR.nkx exists in Library/Application Support/Native Instruments/Kontakt 5/presets/Effects/Convolution
    It's about 387MB.
If you use Kontakt 6, you can find the same file on a similar location, except the folder is named "Kontakt" instead of "Kontakt 5"

    On Windows -> C:\Users\username\Documents\Native Instruments\Kontakt 5\presets/Effects/Convolution <--- this is wrong! :suicide:
    Edit:
    The good location is:
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Native Instruments\Kontakt 5\presets\Effects\Convolution\

Thank you very much for all the answers!

I have tried to check, but I couldn't find anything. This is where I should be, right? I have checked every folder, but there is nothing in it.

I don't know which library unfortunately. It's really the first time I see this file and the name of any possible library is also not written in the error. So I quess it's hard to tell if it's coming from a library and then from which one.

If I'm reading correctly, one of your libraries (or maybe even Kontakt itself) is missing a convolution reverb file called Auditorium A.wav. Maybe you deleted the K4IR.nkx-file by accident?

And btw, it's a stock Kontakt file in 01 Real Rooms (the Auditorium, the nkx is one folder above).

    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Native Instruments\Kontakt 5\presets\Effects\Convolution\01 Real Rooms.
Does it look like this inside the folder:

and like this outside the folder:

Do you use Kontakt 5 or Kontakt 6?
This K4IR.nkx (and .nkc) should be next to those folders in the picture you posted. It comes with every Kontakt.
Kontakt's factory IR sample files are packed inside this K4IR.nkx, I suppose since Kontakt 4.

guys, he needs the .nkx package with the .wav inside. Don't confuse it with the .nkp (preset) file in that folder.

    Edit:
Sorry, I gave the wrong location for windows.
    The K4IR.nkx should be in:
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Native Instruments\Kontakt 5\presets\Effects\Convolution

Thanks again for all the answers!

    @No Avenger

Yes, I likely deleted it by accident. Thank you very much for sending me the files. I have placed them now outside the folders in documents. Although, they don't show up in Kontakt when I go to the same location or when I want to select them. Any ideas? They are now here:

I have tried to search in the newer location through common files and not through documents this time. If I look at the pictures it should be there, but there is not even a Kontakt folder right there. So I couldn't find all these folders in common files. I still use Kontakt 5. Version 5.8.1 to be specific, but I have plans to upgrade to Kontakt 6 soon.

Try and search: 01 Real Rooms
on the C disk. My guess is that you have installed it somewhere else on the C disk. Cause I also had one place with empty folders and one place with content. Or maybe the easiest thing is to just reinstall 5.8.1

That's weird. It seems as if you had different user accounts, one where you saved the borrowed files and another that Kontakt sees. But that's very unlike.
I know it sounds stupid but put a randomly named folder next to it to be sure it's the same location Kontakt sees than where you saved those files.

Other guess is, and more likely, the received K4IR.nkx file you got, on the way it arrived to you its type has been modified to document.
We can't see this in your attached picture, what is the file type written next to the K4IR.nkx file? is it "NKX File" like Daskeladden's attached picture shows?

I also think the best is to reinstall Kontakt because it's possible that your actual installation was not correct and it could even miss not just that IR package file but also registering the NKX file type in Windows registry.

So, you still get the 'Content Missing' warning?

If yes, maybe search for '01 Real Rooms'. Maybe you have two folders and have to place the K4IR files somewhere else.

for the moment it can help but what if an instrument will need other stock Kontakt IR file, too?
Kontakt not seeing K4IR.nkx is not healthy.

Thank you very much for the answers again!

I tried to install 5.8.1 again, but then I saw it didn't work out. After that I immediately knew what the issue was. I once installed 5.7.3, but that version was a full install I quess?. I likely have deleted that one, because that version was nowhere to find. Probably because I was upgraded to a newer version and maybe therefore I thought I don't need this one anymore. Although, apparently some of my projects were used with that 5.7.3 version. I think it's no surprise that these projects are all old ones. That should clarify why not all of my projects were giving the same error. Mostly old ones that were used with that version. All the next versions after 5.7.3 are all portable, isn't it? So they don't have a full install anyway, right? This issue dissapeared when I installed 5.7.3 again. When I go to the same location that was mentioned, then I saw all the files were there aswell.

    Hello!
I got the exact same problem but with Mac. "Auditorium A.wav" is missing. It asks every time I open an Instrument. It´s a little annoying after a while.
    Can anyone help please???

    EDIT:
Ok, I found the "K4R.nkx", but Kontakt keeps asking me for it. Any idea, how I can make Kontakt remember, wehre to go?

After you fixed the file missing error, you can make it stick by using the Batch Resave operation. With the library opened, it's under the floppy disk icon. [Floppy disk, wow. I admit I recognized that icon...]
