Teaching is possibly in the first place of the danger list. Most people don't and won't feel any need to hire a teacher because of the internet. At least for the simple or very normal tasks. Imagine how many people will become unemployed.

Please add any job you think would be in danger in the next decades.

All of the repetitive, shitty jobs, will be history. That's all I can say.

I don't see it. Quite a few people hire private teachers to begin with, but obviously automation can't replace early and primary educators. Businesses and all kinds of groups will continue to hire and employ all kinds of instructors and coaches. Or at least I like to think so.

Meanwhile agricultural jobs have mostly already disappeared. A slow decay due to steady rise in productivity. 150 years ago 2/3rd's of the work force was in agriculture. 50 years ago about 1/3rd. Today in many modern countries around 2% of the population works in agriculture.

Due to automation manufacturing and more recently retail jobs are on the same path. Logistics will be next to take a giant hit.

But this is not a bad thing per se. In fact, it's supposed to be a great thing. In theory if everyone benefited equally from the rise of productivity we could see a move to 3 or 2 maybe even 1 day work weeks for everyone during our lifetimes, no problem.

But the problem of course is that we live in very unequal societies. While productivity has gone up across the board, the working class people have not been invited to the party in decades. The wages and benefits have stagnated, in some countries even dropped. According to some estimates around around 50 percent of all jobs in G20 nations could disappear before the year 2050. Nothing like this has happened before.

There is no obvious solution to the obvious social problems this change raises. I think it is inevitable something will happen. Some people of course cling to the past more furiously than ever. The fetishization of labor intensive primary production and manufacturing jobs is at the core of Trumpism, for example, but many people see a a tipping point and a paradigm shift coming as the current economic model slowly grows socially unsustainable. Some people think it could be violent. Europe is already starting to experiment with different de facto basic income models.

I think occupations like accountant etcs are already on the way out. My sis' firm decimated their staff last year, just left management rly. Just all (mostly) computerised nao. Anything in market research, data analysis, tax etcs will be. You hope that computers / web will make all lawyers redundant, but they're too good at arguing to be taken down by a mere algorithm, I guess! :D

 

in g music teachers with degree and without degree but right written online offer have so much clients they cant work off all offers they get...i looked it up a bit some time ago

What occupations? producing EDM will be erased for sure A.I. algos will do it. Only true virtuosos will prevail. But that's questionable too.

 

@babuk That's a really interesting thing to think about. Is it really possible? We should concentrate on that aspect of it, I suppose, since this is a music forum.

The traditional Farmer will dissapear: meat, vegetables & fruits will be produced within biotech buildings, possibly below the surface.
Combustion engine repair & production techs: will loose their job because of the electrification of engines.

 

Update system (currently under execution vehemently) will finally extinguish the humanity if done with this rate and unplannedly considering all aspects. People need to do works again and again to discover themselves and feel stability in their lives. This never-ending mechanism is not in accordance with that and other humans' traits. It takes the repose and peace and leads people into alienation from themselves and the society.

 

AI still does not invent the language but it looks like it can read a lot better.

Auto mechanics are already an endangered profession...one need not figure out by deduction or intuition what is wrong with an engine, there is a computer to feed that information, and what used to be titled "mechanic" is now just a part changer...or so my old mechanic used to rail. He kept alive my 220,000 mile 1984 Honda Civic long past it's calculated lifespan. RIP, Grey Girl, keep the rubber to the road on that highway in the sky!

I read Bill Gates' boo "the road ahead" in 1995. He back then saw everything quite clear especially the evolution of jobs. It seemed to be quite unbelievable back then. But today a lot of his predictions are fact.

In another 25 years nothing will be as we know it now. (any) Jobs will be for the most intelligent and most efficient only.

Even some business leaders(!) around the world demand an unconditional basic income for everyone because they accepted not everyone is able to be a rocket scientist.
And they (the business leaders) are no socialists. This is needed to be done. Otherwise we'll see riots and revolution like in Russia at the beginning of the 20th century [what results in -> death of business leaders ;) ]
