    Don't quote me but I think "S12" is for the case fans and "P12" is for pushing air like through a radiator heatsink.

    I do (NH-D15S model + one supplementary Noctua NF-A15 PWM = 2 Noctua NF-A15 PWM total).

    It's not overload ; it's fine, and SILENT.
    The fans can be runned at 1/2 speed (that's what I do with my 140W TDP i7 6850K, and I can't OC it easy at 4,30GHz, haven't tried yet more OC).
    Overclocked at full charge, 50°C. When not in full charge, 30°C.
    This is for this 140W TDP i7 CPU, it may be more for a 165W TDP CPU.

    You need a very big tower, though. Be careful about the dimensions. It really is a monster.

    thx for replys...

    my old i have , have this funnel infront of i7 2600 cpu fan to direct stream direct from outside....and you cant take it off to clean proper without breaking it a bit
    are there noctuas with funnel...
    i kno some say these are outdated and not so...but it makes much sense to me to have a air funnel ..

    as far as I know, redux series are lower quality, don't include accessories within the package (rubber grommets and additional cables),

    difference in fan construction defines if the fan is intended to suck in/out air of the case; or if it pushes air through radiators (liquid cooling),

    funnels aren't used much anymore, because all components need to be cooled (mobo vrms, ram modules, chipset etc..) so the air flow should reach all parts; golden rule is to push more air into the case than out of the case,

    if you have 4-pin "PWM" fan headers on mobo, you can use Y split cables to connect 2 same PWM fans (of which only one will provide its speed information),

    I use similar cpu cooler, Noctua NH-U14S for my overclocked i7-5820K to 4.3GHz, does amazing job and isn't that huge, despite still having 14cm fan :)

    thx for heads up..

    :wink::grooves:
    so how do i see what fan pushes and what is sucking

    i got 1 sucker on case...1 sucker with funnel onto cpu (hard to clean not 100%,not removeable easy...acer puter)...1 pusher in power supply unit

    i have option for one small fan in case but no power ports...

    at moment i dosnt need change but i will change them with time..

    :deep_facepalm::wtf:oh recoil :rofl::mates:
    that was to illustrate...2 sucking in 1 blows out you kno...2:1

    but this sentence ...yea yea:rofl:
    ------------------------
    i guess we all kno that heh heh....but i thought anyway it could be really be that some fan finger design is for intake and one for outtake ...eg one of them will have more filth on it than other ...

    detachable blades is very cool
    --------------------
    but only cause rpm , the fan fingers looks total differnent between first and second noctua ....could be...same watts less fingers bla

    I've got this one too. I put my rig in this:

    https://www.amazon.com/Cooler-Master-Computer-Radiator-RC-902XB-KKN2/dp/B00FFJ0H3Q

    I needed something highly portable to be able to move it between the mix room location (at my house) and the recording location. And there was plenty of room in it to support that monster cooler.

    It is truly very silent. I don't know what temps. I'm running, though. I'll probably look harder at that when the need arises to overclock it.
