Why some people new to a forum expect to get stuffs without any effort from their side? And whine about it when they get sarcastic response?

    You get what you give.

If you are extra nice, and helpful, you might get someone to help you on musical dictation.
If you come out on any forum and ask a non specific question as a starter, you get a non specific "google it yourself" answer. It's not even sarcastic.

(9 times over 10, the google it answer is the answer*)

    * when it's not, start the work on your own, and if you have troubles on this specific work you started, show what you did at that point and peoples are usually happy to help.

BTW, you can convert audio to MIDI using either Melodyne or the forthcoming Ableton 9. The results depend on how complex your source material is. If you have a single instrument playing, the recognition will work pretty well. If you have a complete orchestra, or other complex sound sources, the MIDI detection is completely off.
