It's finally there. Special intro/black friday pricing for launch. The final price will be 250€ (so pretty expensive), but right now it costs 161€.
Downloading it through acquarius right now. Almost 2 gig....Will take a while before testing.

    A short description :

    Details
Acustica is pleased to release TAUPE: the newest AU/VST/AAX plugin suite based on Core13 technology.
21 analog and digital tape machines - carefully sampled all around Europe - 40 finely crafted programs, 3 consoles, 2 compressors, a dedicated MIX control, authentic dynamic compression, real harmonic saturation and more. It took us over 10,000 minutes of sampling time to craft Taupe. This is not just the regular analog tape emulation plugin. It goes above and beyond that, giving you the world's most powerful tool to finally embed the sonic signature of iconic, rare and expensive stereo and multitrack tape machines into your creative workflow. Simply put, Taupe will take your whole conception of analog mixing and turn it ...upside down.

Awesome news and release imo. What do you think ? Gonna test it ?

Thanks, I'm actually pretty excited to test it too. I always enjoy AA new stuffs, but I've been waiting for their take on tape since they announced they would make a tape Acqua one day. Didn't think it'll come so fast. There are a great deal of units sampled, it's quite impressive to say the least. Just that side of thing alone - beside the uniqueness of AA ways of technically doing their stuff - puts them aside from their counterparts in other brands. Satin is very versatile and you can make it whatever you want, but other than that devs usually offer units recreating a handfull of famous units (always the same) with a few "unique" tweaks available on top...Here it's an entire other deal. With consoles, filters and comp on top. Pretty cool.
Obviously with their tech it's probably going to be spectacular, so that's also great.

Oh I don't doubt it sounds good @Mix101-- , Acustica Audio around here is seen like one of the best emulations. I'm just saying... don't you think there's a bit too many plugins that do the exact same job? Someone who already has 2 expensive plugins that do the same thing, is seriously going to consider buy this because "oh look, here you can see the actual saturation and waveform changing, you can hear it if you have thousand dollars speakers and crank the volume up" ?

the GUI looks very clean btw!

Sometimes i don't believe nebula and acqua hype. It is weird for being a Core13 latest tech plugin with weong behaviour sounding like that:

    https://www.gearslutz.com/board/showpost.php?p=13618770&postcount=21

This guy turned downside up their new products, as well as Gold and few others.

I am fine with non acqua/nebula plugins, rarely use them...

Lol, good for you.... I'm part of that club too (way too much spending done on AA store), so yeah. Can't pass it at that price. Didn't even demo it either....:rofl:Is there a higher loyalty rate than 55% ? I was surprised when I got my first coupon with it, I thought the maximum loyalty coupon was at 40 or 45 %....

Taupe neither do Wow nor Flutter (originally they were tapes and analog "diseases" that anyone would try to minimize at these tape and LPs times).

But one could choose to do Wow and Flutter on a track, for a kind of special FX.

I'm asking myself if I could use Satin for Wow and Flutter only (skipping other tapes emulation parts of Satin) and chain it with Taupe for its tapes emulations (I was never absolutely convinced by Satin tapes emulations, even if I like it and bought it)

Yeah the way I understand it they've minimized wow and flutters, so that there wouldn't be too much artefacts after processing with some materials (edm kicks, etc)...I think that's where the whole laser situation comes from. Basically some sampled units are allergics to some "modern" material, even with the tweaks they applied during the sampling porcess to make things better. According to AA guys, it's more a matter of what the sampled units were able to handle than it is a bug in the final product. I've barely tested it, but the problem seems to occur only on specific transienty material and in certain units (the D serie mostly), on most I didn't notice anything lasery. There are some tape units that date back from the 50's in there, I guess there are compromises to make in the sampling process. Hopefully they'll find a better one for the problematic sampled units.
For the wow and flutters I was also thinking about putting Satin in the mix...

I'm confident in Acustica Audio to solve this "laser" problem, they have always solved the problems, even if it could take time sometime.
Generally speaking their sonic value is outstanding, so...
Remember that we're on the final debugging period, at its first day, that's why the "pre-order" price (usually -15%, but -35% for Taupe for "Special Black Friday"), which will last 4 weeks at least.
We will see in 4 weeks if the "laser" problem remains, or not ; but at this time the price will be €249, not €161,85
Gearslutz Acustica Audio users are good at pointing the problems and pushing hard Acustica Audio to solve them
