I try to do as much as i can in mixing stage and spend not much time on the master

One question: Do you want members to rate the mixing work? the artistic composition? or the whole thing?

 

just after honest opinions, i know the music may not be to every ones liking and i appreciate so more after members to rate the whole thing mixing, arrangement, instrumentation ect... not so much if its something they would enjoy listening to..

 

good music piece for its kind.
add some guitar chords maybe...

 

The compositional elements and song structure are not bad. Only criticism I really have is that the drum kit doesn't fit the musical backdrop. Way too hip-hop for this type of instrumental. So, imho the whole drum kit needs to be replaced by something more acoustic/organic to make really sound coherent.

I actually like the mix of acoustic arpeggio guitars with that hip hop beat, what I think its missing is the link between the two, which in this case would be a good bass line. I think that would be the tip of the iceberg that it needs. Soundwise it's good but obviously if you add a bass guitar you'll need to re-configure the mix to blend it in. overall i like it. 8.

 

Call me old fashioned but how about having a melody.It sounds like I'm only listening to half the mix. The chords etc are fine but they are just there to define where the melody can go. Ok for an ad for yoghurt with a voice over or meditation music for us oldies , but as a piece of music in it's own right, in my humble etc, it needs to state something. The statement could be purely melodic or a melodic vocal. An evolving riff as a hook for example Anyway well done for putting it up for critcism. Bear in my that I am just an old git with outmoded ideas. The mix sounds fine on my tiny pc speakers. On second listening I think you are trying to do that, but its too sparse and ill defined to feel like a hook. Please forgive my being frank.

 

It's not really my cup of tea but as tvandlover says, I was waiting for a melody to come in. Specially in that genre.
I dont deserve to give a note, because I dont know this genre enough.

 

It's nice enough/10 but as others have said, it kinda needs a main electric guitar melody or smthn. Maybe sax at the end too for variation / cheese? =) Or vocals? Seems a bit like a backing track atm...

 

mix sounds good on laptop over here but artwork is plain....forgive me pls....i tell you what i think....its music for doing presentations or sort of....or vegan food advertising...or advertising for boy scout camp for slow growing chlidren...or advertising for the next selfheal esotheric group...
for that stuff it is great

im asshole but better be honest...and it has no matter what i think cause its apparently not my go to genre...
all what matters is if you really like it , all other is not important...

As others have pointed out, this sounds like a rough demo that is sent out to songwriters/producers to write a topline over. Far from finished.

 

Nice feel but lacks melody and variation. Play your keyboard(if you have one), play along and let the atmosphere of the song take over you.

You where a woman I'll ask you to marry ME. LOL But seriously though, don't be afraid to break the MODE, explore, experiment, and listen to your SPIRIT. The drums was a nice touch, Hip Hop or not. Become the Bruce Lee, of music, like I'm going to be; such as, " there are no styles", and continue to create and invent life but into MUSIC. The dance moves Michael Jackson done in Billy Jeans was mine that I took from other ppl of old. The Charleston, James Brown, Grease Lightning, John Travolta, and the Crip Walk. I done when I was a kid, young and free hearted, dancing on the streets of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Brake the MODE baby! Don't put shackles on your SPIRIT! The drums didn't fit because you are trying to follow rules, while there or NONE, for creative... Shatter, the glass that FORMS YOU and flow like WATER...
???PAN??? Like in Peter PAN -- you DIG!

I'll learned that, a Melody can also be a Melodic Vocal or an evolving riff as a Hook making a statement, a movement, such as, a complete sentences that's not fragmented.

You need acoustic Drums for good gated reverb on snare. Bass missing?

 

I think so too. Exact same beat is fine to me ... nice mellow, drift off to sleep music .... just different instruments on the beats.
Could get really creative since there is not too much going on ... "world" percussion is what i think...but not so dry - the snaps and claps seem too intrusive.
Maybe some other atmosphere sounds moving in and out. Now i think .. some female vocal in the distance on the last part of each cycle...

 

i imagine a nice, relaxed elevator ride. makes me feel 50+.
