I downloaded the trial of FL studio so I could get the fl studio asio driver, which is far far better for me than ASIO4ALL. I would like to find a way to extract the fl asio files so that I could use on another computer without needing to do the demo thing again.

There is a folder for it with the path "C/program files (x86)/image-line/Fl studio ASIO" and it has a bunch of dll files, could I simply transfer these to another computer or is this not gonna work?

You are better off using the Magix ASIO driver. Best overall performance.

Have you tryed the Generic_Lower_Latency_ASIO_Driver_64bit yet ?
    https://www52.zippyshare.com/v/dwKDfDbt/file.html

If you copy the folder Fl studio ASIO from the Image-line folder onto your other pc
then open the folder and run the registerAsioDriver.bat it could work without having to install flstudio .
    @quadcore64
if you have a copy handy could you share it here as well thanks

I have Samplitude, Soundforge & Spectral Layers installed. Any one of these (most recent version) will install the latest Magix ASIO driver. Compared it against Steinberg Generic ASIO, ASIO4ALL & Fl Studio ASIO. Better latency & stability. Can push projects to breaking point now.

A decent external sound device with a well developed driver should perform much better than the average 24ms combined
    latency using ASIO default settings.

Using outputs only, system reports consistent across all DAWs:
    10ms/15ms @48khz, 24 bit
    11ms/16ms @44.1kHz, 24 bit

you can find the files if FL ASIO in the folder of your pc where you have installed FL Studio "C:\Program Files (x86)\Image-Line\FL Studio ASIO"
    (or)
you can open the downloaded trial installer (flstudio_win_20.0.5.681.exe-latest) with 7-zip you will find those files inside the folder named "$_6_".

copy those files and place it somewhere safe in C drive (default path: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Image-Line\FL Studio ASIO" is recommended)

    ILWASAPI2ASIO.dll : 32-bit ASIO driver DLL
    ILWASAPI2ASIO_x64.dll : 64-bit ASIO driver DLL
registerAsioDriver.bat : Script to register the above dlls.(Run as Admin)
unregisterAsioDriver.bat : Script to UnRrgister the above dlls.(Run as Admin)

After copying it onto the right place right click "registerAsioDriver.bat" and click "Run as Administrator" to register the dlls.

The best ASIO driver I have ever used: https://www.usb-audio.com/
Using a cheap Behringer UMC22 interface I can get a latency of 8ms and the amazing thing is it does NOT block my Windows audio, which means I can use my amp sims with very low latency and for instance play along while watching a Youtube video. I could also set it to the highest setting which results in only 6 ms but then the Windows audio will glitch out and you either have to restart Windows or reinstall the driver which restarts it (no big deal, takes like 15 seconds).

  9. Have you or anybody else seen a comparison between the Magix and the RME ASIO drivers?

But it doesn't support all usb-audio interfaces, does it?

My reference about ASIO drivers is for using an internal sound device. Do the RME ASIO drivers work with other devices?

From what I rememberabout those drivers (years ago), was that they were very buggy, unstable & non-universal.

Have they been updated, rewritten? (August, 30th 2010, V2.8.45, 1093KB)

I'm not sure, but they do have a free demo so you can test it with your device.

    @quadcore64
It seems very stable for me, as long as I don't use the absolute lowest buffer size.

I think the usb-audio.com is/was on the sister site. Anyway, I tried the full version, my focusrite 2i4 soundcard is not supported. I tried registering my HWID&DeviceID and modifying the driver, can't quite remember. It did get it to work, got latency of 0 ms, as they advertise, but no sound xD. They are currently supporting audiocards though, which however paid for??? if your device is in the list of supported devices you're in luck I suppose and can use the cr4cked version.

@quadcore64 Do you know if I can extract those drivers, from either Samplitude, Soundforge & Spectral Layers without installing those softwarez? As my current focusrites gives me a latency of around 60ms which is way to high (windows 10)

Most likely if you can open the installer in 7zip or capture the temp directory & look at and, understand the installation structure. There is probably someone here with the actual knowledge to do this.

As I use Magix pro software, I have not been motivated to go diving.

    1 - Go to image-line website.
2 - Download their Last Windows installer
3 - when choosing what to install, only leave Fl Studio Asio checked.
    4 - Voila.

  17. I don't know. That's something nobody has to my knowledge talked about. I will ask tomorrow at the RME forum to see if it could be utilized. My Babyface can run on other ASIO software beside the RME such as FL Studio and generic. Thanks for the query!

    Thanks for the info.

Question, would it be possible to make a wrapped driver that could function on a portable drive without an install?

You are right. Thought that all Magix (Pro) products installed the ASIO driver for some reason.

    Samplitude for sure.
