So, can you tell me, which is the latest fully proper/working version of kontakt released by R2R?? And problem solved.
It is better to have working kontakt with working libs, than waiting for newer well-protected releases and messing with broken projects because of that. Seems to be they have u-he/tone2 protection styles or smth like that. Or what?

 

The latest release on the other site is functional unless I'm missing something. I'd better run downstairs and check.

 

Doesnt mean it cant be cracked because it already has been and is available on another site. Personally I'll just stick with 5.7.3 Its worked perfectly for me and as Tooloud said how many libraries do we have that we will never exhaust.

as i said somewhere else here, using kontakt's GUI is like putting a really long pole up your arse. unless you like that kind of stuff, it's going to be really unpleasant..

Have added these for myself seen as native instruments removed them from the update,
i only needed the Kontakt 5 16out to open kontakt 6 but made two version ,
They are not patched or unlocked and are just output plugins that were removed from the update.

Kontakt 6 16out
These 16 & 8 output plugins can now be used to open and run Kontakt 6 x64 if needed
just add the Kontakt 16out & 8out.dll to your kontakt 6 plugin folder and open in daw.

Kontakt 5 16out to open kontakt 6
If like me you had your music template setup to use the Kontakt 5 16out.dll
and don't want to remake the template but want to now use Kontakt 6,
you can also use the Kontakt 5 16out.dll to open Kontakt 6 in your daw,
just backup and replace the two files making sure Kontakt 6 is in the same folder as well.

The output plugins will not need to be updated or changed again
so you can keep using them after any kontakt updates

It's not really a monopoly when there have always been other samplers to choose from. A real monopoly is like in parts of the world where there is ONE ISP, so you agree to their terms or have no internet at all. But a lot of so-called monopolies are by choice. That's what they call "lock-in", using psychology and economics so that people want to use it. Like Facebook - you are free to use other social media tools instead, but if all your friends, your "scene" is on Facebook, then they count on getting you to use it anyway. Despite having alternatives.

Another way to "vote with your money" is to let sample publishers know that you are only willing to buy multiformat sample libraries. Tell them with their contact info, and/or in forums about the sales the lose through being Kontakt-only, and the sales they stand to gain by offering more options.

Update to original post:

This is a follow-up on our article from Sept. 27th. The situation is the same - Kontakt 6 files cannot be read. Kontakt files going back to v4.2 are 128-bit encrypted; and NI is no longer updating the code library necessary to read v6.0 files. There is a minor workaround for this (see below) but far short of what was previously available.

We hope NI allows file access again. Compatibility is obviously better than incompatibility. We always believe in cooperating with companies and being a help and not a hindrance. Until then, we are maintaining a web page that gives the latest information, and provides free utilities, on dealing with Kontakt 6 information and files, click here.

 

not sure this is a good idea for them. im sure they have their reasons. i love NI though and i wish them all the luck no matter what business decisions they make.
