The track isn't my type of rock, but I am more inclined either towards G N' R type Rock & Roll or heavy-ass Metal. That being said, I do like the tone on the guitar quite a bit. I used to have a Mesa Boogie (with my Jackson DKMG, not, unfortunately, a Soloist,) that I could torque some tones out of that were similar; love those amps. Usually my tone ended up sound more like Kirk Hammit's with the scooped mids, and, for lead, more towards Chuck Schuldiner's tone (from Death, R.I.P.,) I like the bend/slide at 0:27, but I might really make it scream (not necessarily louder, just more wrenched-out, Dime style,) and have it drag out for a bit longer, maybe with a swift dive instead of a fade out. I also really like the effect you have on what sounds to be the PM part at the 1:00 mark. If you added a thick rotary effect to that it would sound like some of Vai or John 5's stranger stuff (not that much of what they do falls into the Normal category.) As per drums, I recommend agree with the experimenting wth parrellel compression idea; the drums need to be thrashier and "live" for this type of tune. All of these are, of course just opinions and ideas.
All around, it's a meaty track and a solid mix. :speaker:

And, I agree the track would sound good with some vocals (nothing against you, DieM, I love Hip Hop and Metal, but, in my opinion, the two need to stay in their respective corners.) I think that the obvious style of vocals would be Phil Anselmo type vocals, or, and this may sound weird, but maybe more Geoff Tate style vocals (Queensryche,) which Phil actually did a similar style quite a bit pre-Pantera, and a little bit during early Pantera. Either way, I think the track would be a great vehicle for a good singer. :headbang:

    @eXACT_Beats_ ... Thanks very much...

This isnt real guitar playing... Its MIDI programming... All sounds are either Kontakt libraries or Synth layers... Hope you dont think any less of it coz of that... :)

I love GNR and the likes... i also like the metal rap style of RATM and Beastie Boys...

    Thanks!

Haha, I can tell it isn't real guitar playing, I just mentioned the ideas because I thought that you might be someone who can conjure magic from Kontakt and make it sound like a real, honest-to-goodness guitar (I sure as hell can't.)
And I am a purist, but only to a logical and reasonable degree; MIDI is not cheating or less-cool or whatever people say. I've found after playing music for 20+ yrs (with admitted dry spells due to life's rotten twists,) most of the people who spout that there are steadfast rules and ways to create music are either Dinosaurs or hardly musicians themselves. (I do draw certain lines, for instance, I despise Band In A Box. It reeks of the need for instant gratification which I usually associate with one-push-button/knob plugins, like the, say, "Soundgoodizer." :snuffy:) Sometimes my friends who are *only into Metal or *only into Rock are like "If you have to make Hip Hop, you should at least use real instruments, otherwise it's not really music. You have a MIDI keyboard, that's not the same as a real keyboard." I then ask which one of them wants to get me a Boonie Mayfield, Ski Beatz or J Dilla type studio stacked up with $30,000 worth of raw equipment like all of them have/had. Watch how fast no one reaches for their wallet.
Also, I love RATM and Beastie Boys. Some guys *do get a pass on the Rock/Rap thing....thinking on it, maybe only them. :dunno:

Completely agree... the final product is whats important... so what if you use "fake" instruments? :)

I have definitely taken your ideas on board... gotta figure out a more squealy pinch harmonic and will see if i can find a suitable virtual rotary speaker...

    Thanks again @eXACT_Beats_ :)

Enjoyed it! Thx for sharing. Only slight surprise (on first play) is that it sounds less like a "chase" and moar liek a "cruising the strip" type thing. I dunno tho, might just be that it's quite slow paced, almost strutty =) I did expect someone to rap over it, tho. (It would suit a videogame like Burnout / GTA, so mission accomplished! Maybe make a cool video w/ game engine?)

Cruising the strip... Yeeeaaahhh... That sounds pretty bang on... And the video idea is cool too!

Thanks @famouslut ... I hope you remain famous forever! :)

I know someone will probably shout that it sucks (apparently some people believe plugins aren't legit unless they're Slate, UAD or Wave,) but I really like the vybe of Blue3's rotary.

Great song, Kinghtsurfer! You are especially talented at adding all the little "ear candy" sounds, such as the feedback and guitar squeals that really add life and interest to a song. Below are some possible lyrics, if there any singers who want to give it a try. (I do have a melody in mind, but it will probably take me a couple of days to record a guide vocal.)

    Fly

    VERSE 1
(Yeah) This feelin's what I live for
My foot is on the floorboard
The street lights are stars flashin' by
    I don't know where I'm goin'
But this car won't be slowin'
Until I break through to the other side

    CHORUS
    I'm gonna fly
    Into the sky
    I'm gonna fly
I'm gonna fly until I, reach the other side

    BRIDGE (Spoken)
Cold wind blows inside, through windows open wide
But it don't wake me up from this sweet dream
There's nothin' in my headlights, but the center white line
No sound but the engine as it screams

    VERSE 2
I'm high above the bay now
    The countdown's underway now
To find out if this car can really fly
This world is but a black hole
    It doesn't wanna let go
I turn the wheel and kiss the world goodbye

    CHORUS
    I'm gonna fly
    Into the sky
    I'm gonna fly
I'm gonna fly until I, reach the other side
