Hello there, I am new to this really great forum and thank everyone for everything I have already learned.
I am recording and mixing now since 3-4 years my own music and I am looking for constructive advices on my mixing craft.

I am quite unsecure about mid/side bass/treble relations. So if you hear something strange, let me know.

    Thanks for your time!

The vocals feel a little too in-my-face but, overall, it sounds good, even at the 0:40 marker where it could have gotten messy with everything playing at once. Also, I like the interesting note selection for the guitar outro.

I don't understand the vocals but I like it, an interesting tune.
Is it live recording of real instruments or VSTi and sample libs?

    Sweet!

The vocal is too upfront, like a commercial, it seems not to fit the mix.
Try re-eq, compress it a bit or limit.

Other than that it is original and fresh.

its a cute track...well done....i think what is preventing it really popping is the buildup of low mid freq.....maybe around 300? listen to the tail of the toms......also sink the vocal back until you cant understand the words...then raise it up till you can...thats a good starting point.....try a remix with the vocal soloed...and watch a freq spectrum...fabfilter pro q is good....on the master as you add tracks...then you can see where the buildup really is
    cheers

Trackspacer might help the vocal "sit" a little better in your mix, the vocal vol could probably come down a shade as well.

And although I don't understand a word I did listen right the way through and that does not always happen here.........

The track has a certain charm, nice one moosh

If I could understand the words then I'd probably enjoy it a bit more.
It's not my kind of music to be honest but It is well produced and mixed well too.
    Definitely catchy!

Oh wow! I am just back from moving most of my stuff to France to spend there 7 months working only on music.
All your input and recognition gives me good boost and I am really looking forward to be able to spend all my time and energy into recording and trying out new things. I thank all of you very, very much!:wink:

I will try out Trackspacer and some other techniques to get the vocals sitting better in the mix. Having heard your opinions, I think I am more sensible on this matter now. Thanks for the input!

Drums are VSTi and from midi libraries with a little bit of fine tuning. Keys are VSTis played by midi keyboard. Other than that I have recorded all myself, guitars, bass, vocals... And my girlfriend helped me sanging backing vocals for the chorus. Happy you find it interesting, thank you!

Iam happy to hear that! The lyrics are (hopefully) in a good way ambiguous: If someone is in a bad mood, nothings working out, then I am coming with my "magic stick (wand)" which is very chic and everything is going to be alright.. :disco:
its obviously quite hard too translate properly, Ive spent pretty much as time on writing the lyrics as on the music itself.

I am not sure what you mean in case of the buildup around 300hz. Do you think I could get some more clearance (and popping as you name it) by making space for the relevant instruments in this frequency?

I thank you for your honest reply, I particularly appreciate those, coming from other "genres".
