  6. Seriously...you need to try out at least a few to see which you are most comfortable with based on workflow and perhaps the genre of music you wish to create. There are demos to most DAWS, so audition a few to see what works for you.

Do you have an audio interface? You will need one in order to use a microphone that is not usb based.

Yep, i have an audio interface and a microphone, normally i make all the work on fl studio, but im not very confortable using it to record and mix, so i wanted to export the stems to another daw and do the recording and the mix there

Normally rap and metal some times, i record in a home studio and my gear its only an audio interface, the microfone, a usb keyboard, and my headphones

  10. Still need more info....what is about FL Studio that you don't like? With other DAWs you might have the same issues. Harrison Mixbus is very similar to working on a console but hasn't the editing capabilities of others, but for just pure mixing every channel has eq and it emulates summing which might be nice.

Cub5 has still amazing midi editor capabilities, but the performance isn't the best (Reaper's for example is way better).

Try them out and experience for yourself what CLICKS with you :)

what do you want to do with that new daw of yours? that are your needs. cant FL do "that" for you already?

it wont hurt you to know your way around protools, if you look ahead in the future

    reaper is cheap
cubase5 is 32bit, so you might run into some VST issues
abelton live is a option too
if all you really need is the "mixing" as @superliquidsunshine mentioned, then Mixbus is really awesome for that.

do you have any buddies who dabble with music aswell? whats thier DAW? you could get some tips/pointers that way aswell

One of the things I don't like is the audio editing features that fl lacks, and the other one is that im not very comfortable mixing on fl, I'm very used to the way Cubase-Pro tools works,That's why I wanted to make the beats on fl and then record and mix on another software

The main things I want to do with another software is recording and mixing, recording on fl studio it's a hell for me tbh and mixing it's a little bit uncomfortable, I was very used to cubase 5 but I think that fl gives me a better way to make the beats, that's why i want to use another daw to record and mix and fl studio only to make beats

You know ... you don't have to choose just one DAW, unless you only have a 120 GB hard drive and you're trying to conserve space. At the very least, demo all three and make a decision based on that. You might find one is better for MIDI, one is better for audio and one has better bundled plugs and VIs, or handles your existing plugs and VIs better. And it's pretty easy to transfer MIDI and audio files between DAWs these days. Although, you should be aware that Bandlab SONA ... er, Cakewalk is free, but it's a setup for in-app purchases (mainly, online mixing features and subscriptions) down the road, unless Bandlab screws it up and it becomes dead technology, like Vision/Studio Vision DSP after Gibson bought Opcode.

  16. Absolutely, recording audio in FL Studio is a drag. Like the chorus is singing, use FLS for beats and another for audio. You can maybe even use FLS as a plugin in another DAW (someone else might chip in to that though, I could be mistaken).

ABLETON...obviously, so much less convoluted and clunky....arrangement mode is great for live and midi, no complex routings etc. I could go on...

  18. Whichever one will allow you to have independent clocks per track, instead of one master clock.

Christian you have given yourself a solid answer to the very question you asked. You wanted and do make beats on Fl Studio and are very used to the way Cubase and Pro Tools work. So what is wrong with you continuing to use FL Studio and either Pro Tools and Cubase? If you are looking for the "perfect" DAW, you are not going to find it. The perfect DAW does not exist. When it comes to DAW's the biggest issue is learning how to use it. You already know how to use 3 of them! Use that knowledge to your advantage. With a new DAW instead of concentrating on making music you are going to spend your time trying to learn it.
