Off topic because comment about Foster...In a thread made by Foster ? Go figure. :dunno:

I've never seen any comment remove from Judge Dredd threads because they referred to him or adressed the fact that he used to be Al1en.

I can understand the guy wants to start anew under a new alias, he is not mister popularity. But Foster lack of popularity only comes from the type of trollich threads he creates, which are getting weirder and weirder even with the new alias strategy...
You can pull your cissors out as much as you want nothing will change that very simple fact.

@MHEO, just borrowed your sentence.. it is just for discussion. I indeed agree with most of what you've noted. But am I missing something?

    Artist: Luis Fonsi
    Despacito ft. Daddy Yankee
Album: EUROPA FM (no pun intended..;)

video became the first on YouTube to receive three billion, four billion, and five billion views on August 4, 2017; October 11, 2017; and April 5, 2018, respectively. Ok, that's worldwide, but my guess would be: some Americans must have seen it..
    ..but then (wiki):

..totaling 54 non-consecutive weeks. It is the longest reign at number one on the Hot Latin Songs chart, surpassing the 41 weeks of "Bailando" by Enrique Iglesias..

OK, that's latin, but still US chart. To be tot fair:

"On the Billboard issue dated July 22, 2017, it became the first non-primarily-English-language song to top the all-format Radio Songs and Mainstream Top 40 charts.. .."Despacito" also became the single with most weeks at number one on the US Digital Songs and Streaming Songs charts with 17 and 16, respectively."

So, yeah.. I think you can make "some" $$ without being a native English speaker. Can you or anyone else elaborate - not feasible?

On top of that, I think many EU folks can write lyrics in English (or should I say, in what's left of it) for currently topping songs.
Let's enjoy No.2, Cardi B (Drake is on 1, I think..) lyrics vid. (fck, that tongue;P)

We Germans have/had Blümchen, Scooter, and the one and only Dieter Bohlen. Take this! [IMG]

But if you look for a great performance have a look at his one, it's Stefan Raab's cover version of Satellite of his protégé and ESC winner Lena:

And BTW, this intro is phenomenal, best thing ever happened on EuroV!

Oh, hope you didn't get me wrong. It meant to be a joke.. (like - don't care if you don't like her..;) You know how many were trashing her saying that she can't sing, can't dance.. And then BAM, I think there wasn't anyone who won Eurovision by that margin..

    Sooo true...

    @Matt777

This is the list of the 50 best-selling music artist of all time from nr. 50 to nr.1 . I see no Luis Fonsi. It's all Angloamerican stuff, most of them are from U.S.A. others from U.K. some from Canada, Ireland, Australia. All Angloamerican culture: no Asia, no Africa, no South America, nothing from Italy, France, Germany, Spain, India, China... whatever. I think it's just a question of economic dominance: as you can see yourself, all these artists must be (a) English mothertongue (all English lyrics); (b) popular in the U.S. Sorry, but I guess there's no way to become popular otherwise. I think these "youtube phenomena" (such as "Despacito", "Gangnam Style" etc.) are just the proverbial exception that proves the rule.

    50. Dave Matthews Band -- 33.5 million units

    49. Phil Collins -- 33.5 million units

    48. Britney Spears -- 34 million units

    47. Bon Jovi -- 34.5 million units

P.S. the situation is even worse as regards the movie industry:

1 Gone with the Wind $3,640,000,000 USA
    2 Avatar $3,196,000,000 USA
    3 Titanic T$3,026,000,000 USA
    4 Star Wars $2,989,000,000 USA
5 The Sound of Music $2,503,000,000 USA
    6 E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial $2,444,000,000 USA
7 The Ten Commandments $2,314,000,000 USA
    8 Doctor Zhivago $2,193,000,000 USA
    9 Jaws $2,145,000,000 USA
10 Star Wars: The Force Awakens TFA$2,103,000,000 USA

    https://www.boxofficemojo.com/alltime/world/

Give me a call if you can find something "not U.S.A." among the first hundreds in the list...
Does this mean American movie makers are the best in the world? Of course not, should I name Bergman, Antonioni, Fellini, Truffaut, Kurosawa, Kubric, Hitckcock, Tarkovskij, Eizenstein, Bunuel, Wenders, Von Trier, Herzog and other hundreds?

It's just U.S.A. economic dominance, they call it "entertainment industry". It's not reality, it is just business (mainly due to the fact the U.S.A. won WW2. Since then they've been imposing their culture, products and policy to the rest of the world. It's so called "American Empire".

@MHEO I see your point ..but I think we are talking apples and oranges. I'm taking into consideration only now, how music industry works now (and how is evolving).. If you have time look at the links in posts #69, #71.. Maybe somebody is selling things to the "Empire" ;)

I'm probably talking gibberish. Sorry, so friggin' far from being a native English speaker + have to catch some sleep. Nice list of great directors/producers ..a real connoisseur

    peace

You clowns don't even know what pop is. Heck, you don't even know what music is. Between your eeny meeny miney fee fi fo garbage, and black guys who just talk about feeling up white women and thinking that constitutes any form of musical talent. I'd say that you should actually try listening to European music, because its still made with instruments and talent. LOLOL Oh, and as far as Europeans not knowing Pop. Tell that too all the screaming women who passed out the day the Beatles got off the plane in North America. Every generation has their music. Yours is a complete joke

  20. Most guitarists are guys who play with guys.

I have noticed that when people cite the "politically correct" card they use it as an excuse to be humanely inncorrect.
