First off, new to the forums - greetz! Anyway...

I would LOVE to be able to use the Studio One remote app so I can do retakes on guitar and drum tracks from across the room because I suck. There is a remote app but it only works on iPad. My broke arse does not have said iPad. I'd rather have it on iPhone anyway because it's smaller. (i realize it would be harder to see and there may be some formatting issues, I just want to see if I can do retakes) Some people have had good results installing iPad apps on a jailbroken iPhone. I haven't been able to get this to work with this app. I tried tweak called FLEX 2 to remove download requisites from the app store but no luck. I got closer by doing the following but still no luck...

Download the iPad version of the remote in iTunes on Windows. Right click on app and choose "show in windows explorer". Copied .ipa to desktop. Renamed to "Studio One RC 1.0.2.zip". Extracted. Went into "Studio One RC 1.0.2\Payload\dawremote.app" and opened info.plist in Windows Plist Editor. Searched for "DeviceFamily" string and change the number 2 to a 1 and saved the plist. Renamed it back to an .ipa file. Opened iFunBox, went to Managing App Data, and Install App. It copies the file and attempts to install but returns "ERR: Package installation failed (-402653103)".

Anyone have any ideas (besides getting an iPad)? I'd love to get this to work. THANKS!

 

iPhone and iPad versions of apps have different images resolutions and aspect ratios (I am talking about various images that are displayed in an app's interface). Most likely you will not be able to hack it to run on the iPhone. And a remote app for iPhone will be totally useless as the screen is simply too small for a decent workflow.

 

Try looking for another remote control app that works on studio one maybe touch osc.. There are some other daw remote controls.. Or try using another DAW like ableton there is an app available for iphone called touchable..

 

Thanks for the replies... I'll see if I can find something else. Cubase makes one that works on iPhone as well. I knew it would be small and some functions would be possibly unusable if I got it (Studio One Remote) to work on my iPhone. Really all I want to be able to do is isolate the track I'm working one. Arm it for recording. Record a track. Delete it. Rewind. Record again. I'll see if I can get Touch OSC working. If anyone else has any advice pls share. THNX

i don't know what is that due to? maybe because my S1 is cracked?

on presonus site they state it does require v 3.0.1 (or greater?) to work

the app hasn't been updated since oct/nov 2015; if it doesn't work with the current version of S1 3.1.1, then it is a fucking bummer for such a $400 worth DAW

any legit S1 v3.1.1 users out there can confirm the RC app works ?

I had this message and at first thought that it was due to a cracked version of studio one, but I do know that it works with cracked versions for sure. I think the solution was to allow studio one access to internet for incoming and outgoing connections through the firewall. Remove all blockings there. Might sound scary, but I have not had any problems allowing connections. I am pretty sure this was what made the app work on iPad. Good Luck. Would be nice if you could report back so we know how it worked for you.

i have allowed S1 only in 'private' networks in the windows firewall and it worked, (allowing it on public network would make it axe the keygenerated licence )

Kinda glad I discovered this because as much as I would like to have the S1 remote working, I think I'll find another solution. I disabled the NIC on my DAW box and vowed to never take it online. Not just because of apps calling home, but spyware, updates, etc. Any professional company that uses resources that forces you to take your DAW online troubles me. MANY people using completely legit software will not let their DAW or GFX workstation anywhere near the Internet.

 

It's good to know that worked. Maybe keep your eye out for a used Presonus Faderport, it works great for what you're doing. It'll accept a footswitch also for hands free punch in/out. About $125 new on line, but found one in a pawnshop for $45, just a thought.

 

anyone got the remote app working with studio one 4 ?

 

I've got it working on a Surface Pro 3. At first it came up with the "can't work with this version" but I tried it in demo mode and restarted it, and after that it's been working since perfectly...

 

i got it workin

blocked presonus ip in host and enable internet
enable "allow network discovery" in Studio One 4 settings then it should pop up

i treied:opening upd ports in router

ohh i also forgot to mention it needs to be connected to the same wifi (Mobile + PC) , if computer is connected through Wire make sure is the same port ip

 

Yesterday it showed up here in teh remote app, but when i select teh running studio one i just get an error:

Studio one is not activated on your computer

 

I got the same message you're getting huschiwuschi. It worked fine in version 3

 

any progress with this? First i got message '' Studio one is not activated on your computer'' but after allowing it trough firewall I am getting message "Connecting to this version of studio one is not supported''
