Hey everyone! I've been studying in college and doing production stuff in my bedroom for about a year and a half now and was working on some music! My friend was satisfied with this mix and didn't really give me any more input so I was wondering if I can reach out to y'all for some! As of now, I don't have a full treated room (some cheap DIY treatment lol) and I also mix in a square bedroom... :( But I'd still love to hear advice!

    Thank you!

Hey Adam! welcome to our community :mates:
I like the song! if you really started music production less than 2 years, I can say you've made a good progress so far. the mix is fine considering your mixing environment.
I already listened thru the song and for now I can give you 2 insights:

I think the vocals are inconsistent through out the track. at the beginning of the drops for example. sounds like you pushed the levels to bring them forward but IMO the consistency works better for this track.
And transitions are a bit loud. maybe try turning down some of the elements? especially the white noise type swoosh

By the way, did you do the sound design yourself? how about the vocals, did you run them thru any kind of vocoder or just shifted the formants??

Thank you so much for the feedback! I totally hear it now that you've pointed it out.

So with this song specifically, I took my friends production and mixed it since I need an immense amount of practice haha. He definitely takes the credit for the sound design and the vocals. He told me beforehand that the vocals were samples off splice that were (and still are) hard to understand but still liked how she sounded so he used them haha!

Yeah, nice n smooth track. I thought the vocal was Vocaloid. The melody at the start gives me a downer, how about making it more uplifting, or happy or something. Liked it though.

    Hey Sounds great.
    2 Changes only.
Get rid of the 8th click.
Compress the shit out of the Vocal with fast release and add some saturation.
Then turn it up to where you think it is too loud.

Its not actually 8th click. Get rid of that click offbeat sound altogether.
Just leave it open. It will sound more current. Make the track longer.
