it says remove file write protection !!!

can anyone tell me what to do?

vengeance is not replying me since this morning, so frustrated right now !!!

 

it has to do with your permissions settings, you should review those ....WinOS i know

 

dude i checked the files persmission, i dont even know which file need permission the dll or the license ! and they dont respond me on twitter, the support download file doesnt work

 

my partner lost temporally his elicenser and he wrote a few emails to them 5 months ago and he still waiting for a replay. worst customer service ever, btw his elicenser was on the floor. good luck contacting them, they just take the money and run. try to fix it by yourself it will be faster.

Never had any issue with Vengeance yet, usually the answer just a few hours later (I am in the same Timezone as Germany)

 

Avenger isn't protected by elicenser. It's a serial, although the system has changed since a few version and you gotta update your key as you update the synth, at least I had to.
So no dongle needed.
But it's the problem with ilok/elicenser dongle protection, not many companies offer solutions if they are lost or rendered unusable...Some help you if you have proof of purchase, some tell you "hey your loss" or just ignore you as they indicate in their TOS that the destiny of your dongle (and the keys located on it) isn't their responsability.

File protection problem is related to your OS (probably windows 8 or later, that problem doesn't happen much with previous versions), not to avenger protection scheme, @virusg is right.

i know that, i was talking about the customer service, my parter have almost everything from them almost everything he is a valuable customer. and they did not have the education to answer him, i just wanted to advise him... don't wait for them they are not reliable. i dunno about the others but as producer if i have problems with a plug is because im working with a project.. so there's a deadline ;)

 

On Windows you need to

- 1. start your DAW as Admin AND
- 2. Enable the DAW to communicate through the firewall

in order to activate Avenger from inside of the DAW.
Alternatively you can activate with challenge/keycode as with so many other plugins (use Admin mode as well).
You may also need to temporarily disable "internet security etc, pp,.) for the activation process only.

ATM Avenger is the only product Venegeance is using their new activation model for.
In the past they used the Steiberg USB key. Easier to activate but slower and you'll have a lot of trouble when the USB key is broken as @Talmi pointed out.

BTW:
With Windows 10 Microsoft every now and then pleases us with reinventing computer security so it doesn't come too easy to work with this OS.
Lately they mady it quite complicated for programmers to write to directories down the c:\ path, like "program files" etc.
If you want to avoid those write protection errors inside your DAW, you migth open it as admin all the time. Not good when it comes to security and you will not be able to use drag & drop as it's disabled for executables running in Admin context.

So, some vendors like Ableton started to place their executables in "Program Data" or user directories to avoid problems.
Not bad, but it didn't do the intended job, because some files, especially all VST plugins are placed in protected areas by default.

To get rid of those write protection errors I moved the whole VST directory into "C:\Program Data" and placed a symbolic link to the old C:\program files\Steinberg\ path. No errors anymore. No need for admin rights anymore, no more write protection errors, drag & drop enabled.

 

In this case you should uninstall the old version without any remains (old expansions, plugin in VST folder or setting/INI files) first @vector99

 

You must remove all traces of the cracked version of VPS Avenger.

in case of WINDOWS:

- please go to "C:\ProgramData\Vengeance" and rename the folder "VPS Avenger" to "DeleteMeSomewhen" or anything you like.
- Remove register-website from the Hosts file of your OS

in case of MAC OS:

- Delete the license file manually that was installed before (see ~/Library/Application Support/VENGEANCE/VPS Avenger important is the~)
- Remove register-website from the Hosts file of your OS
