    Today I learned that "practise" (a verb) is a thing in some places outside North America.

    I've edited the thread title to
    I'm here for ... instead of I'm here.

    Even so, I cant really see the sense of this thread given the choice offered for the poll .

    There are much better reasons that this to be here.... Or may be you chose the wrong section and this is humor ?

    Indeed!
    Flawnessless to the point of virtuositlis perfectification!

    (look around if you don't believe me. You do better than a great many native speakers!)
    ----------------------------------------------------------
    :excl:ALERT :excl: To any and all who may not get it: this is intended as humour and in no way as a slight toward anyone to whom English is not a native language nor to those to whom it is, but you would never be able to tell.

    It's a long running Xupito gag. Not to be confused with gagging for a long time at or about Xupito or anything at all to do with Lady Gaga (with or without Xupito).

    I am here to share information related to music that is life changing for individuals looking to advance themselves, as I am looking to advance myself with music related information and education.

    This is based off of one assumption , That you have 2 options "knowledge" and "ignorance"
    second, "knowledge" of music will advance every possibility for making music, "ignorance" will not advance any possibility for making music.
    I will now attempt to fit as much music information into this comment in proper order from the top of my head. go...........

    -----------------
    Starting with 12 tone Et
    (12 equal notes.)
    C C# D D# E F F# G G# A A# B C

    {This is called the Chromatic scale , it is a KEY collection}

    next you pick every other note ( like a unzip of zipper)

    C D E F# G# A#

    this is whole tone scale 1

    next

    C# D# F G A B
    this is whole tone scale 2

    ---------------------------
    Once you have your 2 whole tone scales
    {This is called the Wholetone scale it is a KEY collection}

    C D E F# G# A#
    C# D# F G A B

    From the 2 whole tone scales comes the Master chord

    the Diminished 7th chord

    D F G# B

    the notes are symmetrical (meaning each inversion is also new chord)

    D F G# B {Ddim7,Fdim7,G#dim7,Bdim7}
    F G# B D {Ddim7,Fdim7,G#dim7,Bdim7}
    G# B D F {Ddim7,Fdim7,G#dim7,Bdim7}
    B D F G# {Ddim7,Fdim7,G#dim7,Bdim7}

    From the DIm7 chord comes 4 Dominant 7 chords.
    ---------------------

    to get your Dominant 7 chord you take 1 note inside the Dim7 chord and slide down halfstep

    for instance take G# dmin7
    G# B D F

    slide first note down halfstep
    G# to G
    now G B D F ( G7 this comes from C major KEY

    here are our 4 dom7 chords

    D F G# B - C#7( from F# maj KEY
    F G# B D- E7 from A major KEY
    G# B D F- G7 from C major KEY
    B D F G# -A#7 from D# major KEY

    lets look back at our whole tone scale again

    C D E F# G# A#
    C# D# F G A B

    Lets take our G7 chord ( which is C major KEY)

    C major KEY is CDEFGAB

    if we look at our 2 whole tone scales we take CDE from first and FGAB form second to create the C major KEY

    once inside a KEY you have

    I CEGB
    ii DFAC
    iii egbd
    IV face
    V GBDF
    vi ACEG
    vii% BDFA

    each one of these chords and modes is representation of 2 Functions.

    Tonic and Dominant

    (I=iii=vi) Tonic
    (ii=IV) Sub Dominant
    (V=vii%) Dominant

    ---
    (I=iii=vi) Tonic
    (ii=IV) Sub Dominant = (V=vii%) Dominant

    So for ANY major KEY
    our Chord equivalent chart
    {(I=iii=vi),(ii=IV)=(V=vii%)}

    lets use it on our C major KEY to see.

    CEGB=EGBD=ACEG TONIC
    DFAC=FACE Sub Dominant
    GBDF=BDFA DOMINANT

    If we remember our DIm7 chord that connects to C major KEY
    G# BDF

    we can see that there are 4 related Major KEYS

    D F G# B - C#7( from F# maj KEY
    F G# B D- E7 from A major KEY
    G# B D F- G7 from C major KEY
    B D F G# -A#7 from D# major KEY

    Using this one dim7 chord we have a family of 4 Major KEYS.
    ----------

    Going back to our 2 Wholetone scales.

    C D E F# G# A#
    C# D# F G A B

    We can make a chord from each of the 2 whole tone scales.

    lets start of G

    G A B C# D# F

    which makes the chord

    G B D# F A C#

    This is called a G9#5 #11 (Dominant 7 chord)

    Since it is symmetrical , each note in the chord is another new chord

    G9#5 #11 ( is from C major KEY
    B9#5 #11 ( is from E major KEY
    D#9#5 #11 ( is from G# major KEY
    F9#5 #11 ( is from A# major KEY
    A9#5 #11 ( is from D major KEY
    C#9#5 #11 ( is from F# major KEY

    we can do the same thing for our other whole tone scale

    just by dividing our Chromatic scale into 2 whole tones scales
    we can instantly see all 12 major scales and their dominant chords
    next we can see which major KEYS are related.

    you take 2 whole tone scales

    C D E F# G# A#
    C# D# F G A B

    you pick one of them and make it a dominant chord say G7 (from whole tone scale number 2)
    this dominant chord can resolve to the major scale KEY of any of the notes in (whole tone scale number 1)

    lets try this a bit

    G7 resolves to Cmaj7 ( that one easy)
    G7 resolves to Dmaj7
    G7 resolves to Emaj7
    G7 resolves to F#maj7
    G7 resolves to A#maj7

    lets try another

    D#7 resolves to F#maj7
    B7 resolves Emaj7

    and remember if we want to expand any major KEY

    our Chord equivalent chart
    {(I=iii=vi),(ii=IV)=(V=vii%)}
    In Summary

    we have the ability just by beginning with 12 equal notes.
    to form all 12 major KEYS
    AND their KEY collections.
    Finally we can see how each chord in a KEY serves Tonic or Dominant.

    {Note: the major KEY families means that any dominant chords resolve to any of the Maj (tonic) of any of the KEYS in the same Family}

    Let us now see Visual charts of all this presented information.
