Hey guys, so I’ve been producing for a little over a year, and I feel like I’ve made some progress, but it’s very slow. I think it’s in part due to the fact I have no one to guide me on how to improve, learning everything on my own. Thankfully, the internet is a thing and can hopefully help me out a bit. Anyway, I recently did a remix of a Madonna song, and I’ve been sending it to blogs to be shared and hopefully get promotion for it, but it keeps being declined, and the feedback (for the mix) I get is too vague. I would very much appreciate some critique on my mix, and would love to know how I can improve and progress in this craft. Thanks in advance!!!
(Also, I was going for a Tropical House type style with this remix)

In principle I like the remix, but the whole low freq-department sounds muffeld and boomy, toms and hh sound muffeled and if you turn up the volume the snap-clap sound starts to sound unpleasant.

Nice remix, little harsh in the mix at high volume. Vox are a little sharp.
Pretty good. Good and consistent progress is slow. Trust me I've been at this for 30+ years and 'I think I'm making progress' ... ;)
Keep chipping away at it, keep your ears and eyes open at all times and be a sponge for knowledge and craft and you will keep
making progress. And don't stay in your comfort zone...

Whenever I think notice my mix is too boomy or muddy, I can’t ever find a balance. Either you can’t even tells theres a kick and bass or it’s overwhelming. How can I balance it out while still retaining a nice sub bass and a punchy kick?

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah, I know I’ll never be done learning, but it can be frustrating feeling like you’re at a dead end.

Steep low cut at ~ 30Hz (you're mixing music, not an earthquake),
reduce between 100 - 200Hz (that's where it sounds boomy) in bass and bd (probably different freq, q-value and amount),
    enhance between 800 - 1800Hz for bass,
enhance around 4kHz for bd kick sound,
adjust low cut and mid (enhancing) eq for toms according to their pitch (toms are tuned, you know),
    enhance hh (with highshelf),
snap-clap sound: either reduce volume, or adjust compressor attack time to make it softer, or use ambience/room reverb with pretty short predelay (something between 20 - 40ms, if you use too short predelay you'll move these sounds to the back).
