Hi everyone !

I have a MBP early 2015, on which I run OSX Yosemite 10.10, with a PT10 crack, which only runs under Yosemite.
I installed windows 10 on a Bootcamp partition.

In order to upgrade OSX to the latest version, I want to install PT on that windows partition.
So I asked a friend that have a PT 12.5 AudioUtopia crack to send me the files.

My first question is : Do I have all the files required for the installation, because, it looks like there are missing ones compared to videos I found on YT.

Here the list of the files I received :

(folder) Driver Installers
(folder) Licences
(folder) PT
(folder) Transvst
autorun.inf
HDapp.ico
Pro Tools 12.5.nfo
Pro Tools HD v12.5.nfo
Setup.exe
setup.ini

So I followed the steps shown on YT, I ran Setup.exe as admin, but the only thing that pops is a grey window, that remains on my screen, not showing anything. I tried to reboot my computer, redownload the file but nothing works.

I don’t know where your friend got what they sent you but if you grab the version on the sister site it works flawlessly.... So long as you extract the content to the desktop.

I found that any errors that arose during installation were circumvented by shortening the length of the installation directory. And it doesn’t get any shorter than the desktop on Windows lol

I also run Pro Tools 10 on my MacBook Pro with Yosemite. But I’ve installed 10 on Sierra successfully just not, High Sierra.

 

it looks like you have the right files. Just follow the previous advice about shortening the length of the installation directory. Pro Tools 12 doesn't include the Avid Instruments that used to be a bundle up to PT11.

 

just take all the files from installer folder
then put it inside one folder . because if you got folder inside folder the installer not work !

1.create new folder in the desktop
2. grab all the files and paste them inside the new folder
done

 

If you wanna stay on a newer OS running 10, have you seen these instructions?

Haven't tried it myself, I got 12 on a Win partition, from before I saw this tut..
