enjoyed over the years... and was hoping the good folks here could update me on the best
coming out in recent times..

Why not a bit of classic post-rock.

 

why not indeed...

has a sort of Floydian feel to it in the opening bars..
then it goes to that melancholic..lushly mournful guitar...like the movement and development of intensity..

 

yeah! i'm listening to that whole album now. pretty cool stuff. sadly, the band has already broken up. but the members have gone on to form two new groups.

the man is a wizard. he uses countless real instruments and feild recordings for drums, and blends it all together with crazy computer plugins and stuff. its like an ocean of time and space lmao. like old greek instruments and new synths somehow perfectly blending. soem really crazy stuff. he has like 60 something albums but this track is my current favorite.

 

the shifting sands of bands.. so Fleetwood Mac has fired Lindsey Buckingham for their new tour

and hired ex-Crowded house member...Neil Finn.. and Tom Petty's guitarist Mike Campbell...
to fill in the gap.. odd to think ..but so go the ways of fickle group chemistry

instrumental music has a very bright future but also has a whacky future...a boomwhacker future @Herr Durr apols in advance if you are not into the first part of the medley ;)
music is fun (even serious music) that's why we all listen to it and make it ...sometimes its a bit painful on the thighs

 

absolutely @Beth -y , truer than true.. and true dat...
( and truly sad to see music being used as a vehicle for a desperate ego trip )

and I still remember your ambient piece... feel free to reprise it here for some who may not have heard it...
