And all this started because some members were concerned by this plugin quality as well as the bold statements from @StudioLinkedVST .

Please don't "jump" at me if you are offended by what follow.

My personal opinion is that there's a huge difference between producing this specific plugin and producing an orchestral library from Spitfire or Orchestral Tools for example.

I know that both are playing in totally different genres but I am referring here to the cost of such a project. Consider the time it took to produce this as well as the number of people involved and you might get an idea why many here believe that this Storch product is just crap.

It might also be because of the marketing BS (and the asked price) delivered by studio linked that the expectations are so high. Let's just say that if this plugin was 20$ and not 200 then I am not sure that it would be compared to a shareware product.

we are all pioneers here too heheh

but seriously.. as far as producers/sound designers making their own vsts i know some ppl would agree (or disagree) that
rob papen is hardly a pioneer and hardly a legendary when it comes to making vsts
to his credit rob papen is a fkn workhorse polishing his plugins and making it better each release
and never stops to surprise us creating cool vsts

so can i label rob papen as legendary or pioneer here please ?
because im sure even storch used papen plugins and got PAPENED at some point

    papen aint easy

Oh, AudioSex is really showing its best here.

First of all, Scott Storch has been a legend in the 2000s hip hop era, being unaware of his impact over a whole genre in those years doesn't diminish his "prestige" even if it all went to the shitter years later. But if you want to belittle somebody's achievements just because your head is too deep into your butthole and can't see outside of your niche then you're surely entitled to look like an ignorant person when talking about stuff you don't know.

Second, the plugin might be the shittiest preset-based sampler out there, but being so obnoxiously rude towards a developer is puerile and doesn't serve any purpose, if not flooding a thread with shitposts about how bad something is. There is no actual constructive criticism and few legitimate points somebody might have definitely drown in the shitposting sea that is this thread.

I don't like this plugin at all, but I'd never shit on somebody else's work just because I don't like it or the price is too high for what it is.
And I would genuinely love to see anyone here do better than them. But I already know that's not going to happen.

Oh i know Storch much better than you think. And you should mind your language when you refer to more than one peeps please.
At one point back in 2003-2004 i guess, i had utmost respect for Storch because he was a white man in a strictly black dominated hiphop market where very few -if any- other white boys made it happen. That achievement, let alone the tunes and 3 Grammy nominations, gave me hope and inspiration to continue what i was doing. But fast forward to the present...
You probably didn't see the video where he announces himself a pioneer. And then you listen to the sound palette...
It is him, Scott Storch who belittled himself and not the other way around. The product sounds sub par and personally i find the only reason to include such a lib in your arsenal is nostalgia of how (badly produced) hiphop/rnb sounded about 15 yrs ago. Not to mention the ridiculous price. The market is saturated with great products, there really is no need for this generic allrounder that adds absolutely nothing. As for Storch's achievements it is well known to those who follow the hiphop scene that the man Scott, although talented enough to do anything, blew his fame and money in coke, hoes and the general "ghetto blaster/white trash making it big" attitude, coming to this moment where he tries to capitalize on his past fame to feed his addiction (?). Storch's net worth is 3.5k dlrs whereas at one point was 70 mil. Pity really.
And please don't tell me for a second that it is not about money when the pricetag on this lib is 200 dlrs. Take a zero off and then we talk again.
To finish off, at any given time, respect is earned not granted. The fact someone was huge once, doesn't mean he gets a "freepass-no questions asked-hats off" for life. I can forgive anything but this release follows the usual trend of trumpets, thunders, booms and thuds presentation type, for something that sadly sounds much less than the sum of its parts, if you know what i mean.
    Cheers

Storch can be a legend ... (mostly legends are not true anyway). but again : about this library its absolutely crap. if a so called legend , yes he did alot in music, want to put his name on this crap . he felt low for me then. No way a great Artis should put his name on a library that is collected from all other existing sources , resampled. and brought out in a fileplayer with nice gui. that is the point, the library is Crap , about Storch being a legend or not... that is not the issue

Lol, you act as if my message was directly aimed at you. There are more than two people that my message could have been aimed towards, so don't make it about yourself.
If you know the definition of what "pioneer" means you'd definitely understand why he makes such a bold claim, his arrogance towards it doesn't make it illegitimate.
If you take time to read again the few sentences I wrote you'd read that
This pretty much summed it up without even having the need to reply with something that even mentions the coke addition because this isn't really what the whole thing is about (we were talkinga bout the plugin, weren't we?). Besides, using that as a point against his past achievements (which strictly relate to his claims) is fairly illogical, he made his impact well before falling in disgrace.
Would you ever say "this guitarist was a heroine addict, therefore I have no more respect towards the goals he achieved prior to that"?
Mature people can give honest feedback while acting like an educated person and in the meantime being able to discern the difference between the product and the life of a person that has fallen from fame that happens to be featured in the plugin.

But so far every behaviour seems to be pointing towards the other end, and I wonder if it's even worth taking the time to be constructive in an environment like this, or even trying to make people realize that this could be a better place.
