Hi,I come to you because I have a big problem.I'm going to switch from PC to mac and buy a 2012 macbook pro next week.My first use will be for Serato but I also produce and from the begining I use Ableton and Maschine.
But I know nothing on mac and I am use to download everything for pc on audioz and I know windows system very well.
So to simplify everything I would just like to put serato, ableton and maschine on the macbook.I'm Ok for serato but could someone please tell me the simplest way to put ableton and most important maschine on the macbook.Like should I start by installing the last maschine 2.7.6 will it work or should I install maschine 2.0 first. The best stable version of maschine availble on audioz
And do I need extra softwares to install the softs I usually download on audioz,I know the way on windows but...
I know most of the expansions i downloaded was hybrid so i should not have problem I hope.
Pluss about vsts,do you think I will be able to find my vsts for mac on the site.
And last question I'm going to ask the guy from the shop to put a ssd inside, but should I put version 10.12 or 10.13
Sorry for the english and thank you very much

I guess the obvious question is why are you buying a 6 year old MacBook when everything you mentioned works perfectly well on Windows that you know very well?

    @Dice91

your english is not a problem, but when asking for help be CLEAR and specific, no need to write your life story, separate your questions and dont ask the same thing several times, dont write more than necessary.

    -Serato and Ableton
you already know there are releases for Mac for Ableton so

-OSX version on a 2012 machine
depends what machine that is. if its a 15 inch you should be able to use the latest High Sierra. if it cant handle it use Capitan but, some software will not work with older versions, like logic.

-vsts for your mac on the sister site
    what
vsts? how are we supposed to guess?

    -Maschine
    I have no idea

Thank you very much @EddieXx my bad for the life stories.
For the vsts I Use Fabfilter bundle (pro c pro q2 pro l...) and the native instruments vsts from komplete,Kontakt,Reaktor,Supercharger.
@peterA : I use serato and just nought the roland dj-808 controller,I need a new laptop and am tired of the compability issues with serato so I decided to buy a macbook for serato.
But maybe you're right I should just take the macbook for serato and stay on windows for production thanks a lot guys

no prob, its just the best way to get answers, but we all been on the same spot one day..

agree on keeping your system as it is and adding the Mac for djing, but it all depends, there may be some reason why you want to change. often people with deadlines and more "serious" projects dont change easily but others starting out or with no "dead serious" stuff on their machines may want to check different ways of working.

hope it all sorts out, feel free to let us know how you did at the end

    +1
I would do exactly the same. In fact I have a similar setup, though NO Macs involved.. ;))

I'd just add - that way you can keep your DJing laptop totally clean (no shady, "try before you buy" software on it). At least where I live, when gigging around (and so, potentially exposing yourself to some sort of inspection), it's a good idea to have everything legit, software and of course the music you're playing..

    :wink:Good luck!

First install your main programs Ableton & Serato, make sure they are working before you start installing extra VST software. I would then install Maschine 2.0 and its core library... from there you can update to the latest version available and install the expansions you need.

You don't need extra software to install downloads you get from sister site, just make sure you're downloading OSX version ;)

No, you will not be able to find all the VST software available for windows on mac... a lot of software released over the past two years was only for windows.

ATM some software companies are still having issues with version macOS HighSierra 10.13, so I would recommend macOS 10.12 Sierra as a more stable OS for music production.

    Best of luck

& Welcome to the the dark side :chilling:

Please don't switch unless you're willing to spend significant amount of money for plug-ins.
