Hey y'all, thought I updated y'all on my iLok 2 plugins hunt :)

I bought the KuSH Audio UBK-1, Slate Digital Virtual Tape Machines, Slate Digital Virtual Console Collection and the Slate Digital FG-X. I still have some others I have to look into, but just wanted to share with y'all what I got until now.

    Suggestions still welcome *yes*

    Peace from Amsterdam!

Has you used a eastwest play library that requires ilok with authorized product before usage?

I own the EastWest Play bundle. Its the best instruments in it's class for strings, guitars, and ethnic sounds. Just listen to the stuff on their site.

It's more limited than kontakt when editing instruments because there is no flanger/chours/phaser/LFO/ring modulation/distortion/bitcrusher/bandpass filter/hipass filter/equalizer.

    The only things available is:
    1. volume ADSR
    2. lowpass filter cutoff and resonance
    3. delay
    4. stereo double
    5. ADT
    6. reverb amount and predelay
    7. volume of microphone positions
    8. panning of microphone positions

Hey lekb, I think it's a pretty nice plugin. It does what it's supposed to do very well, but it's very subtle. Maybe to subtle for some people... It's for sure going to disappoint if you expect a hugely noticeable difference to start with, but I think it delivers everything it's promising. Depending on which console you choose, it adds certain 'tones', what eventually results in a more lively feel where it would be kind of sterile before. That's about all I can say and NEED to say. It's very good for me, I'm not regretting my purchase for a second. FYI I am monitoring on Sennheiser HD650 headphones and KRK VXT8's through my Apogee Duet 2, I hope that's a good enough setup to be able to hear the plugin do it's thing, otherwise I'm certainly a victim of the 'placebo-effect'. I must admit it is more noticeable on headphones though...

Anyway, the VTM and the FG-X are now must have plugins for me, I'm so glad, I will stay inside for some days with a shitload of joints and energy drinks LOL! *yes*

Celemony is the developer buddy *yes*
I assume you have melodyne? Which version/edition?! If you have at least the editor bundle or better maybe I'll buy the license, I don't necessarily need a third iLok, I already bought a spare one just in case from the start so... Lemme know how much you want for it! PM me...

*** Oops, I think I misread, you're only selling the iLok, right?! haha! ***

    Peace!

    @ Pirate,

Glad you bought UBK-1, VCC, VTM n FG-X. They are really powerful tools and glad you're having a great time using them.

Btw, another software i would highly recommend you to check it out (which is not ilok related) is Vienna Ensemble Pro 5. It has a dongle protection as well that uses Steinberg dongle. It has improved my workflow and i can setup orchestral or big synth sounds templates without having to worry if Logic could handle the workload. Checkout it out when you have the time @ http://www.vsl.co.at/en/211/497/1685/1990/1680.htm

Btw, just to reply you on my previous post on your other ilok thread, i was refering to the reverb plugins by Exponentialaudio @ http://www.exponentialaudio.com/

    @ lekb

I have been using VCC since beta. It has really helped and change my mix. I did a demo for Steven Slate and was please to find out that i was the first contributor to his VCC demo site. Here's a demo @ http://www.slatedigital.com/vccdemos/

Scroll all the way to the last entry named "David Gary - Trimix - Repulse (original mix)". Checkout the individual console sounds.

    Cheers
