Simply - I had this simple melody and everytime I did something with it, I seemed to keep creating elevator music - "MUZAK"

I orchestrated it for Big Band and Orchestra. So I turned it into a truly FUN thing.
It's not quite Elevator music but it definitely has a flavour that works for this satirical piece of music. The arrangement was hand written so it's not random.
All done with sampled VST's, drum and human / computer samples

The elevator opens... it moves, it jams, it gets stuck, people start pressing buttons and MUZAK starts driving them progressively crazy... then the doors almost open but instead, it jams again, the MUZAK starts up and....the elevator plummets and smashes...end of story.
Dark? Story yes, music...fluffy lol

It started off ok and quite sweet cheese, and kinda had me giggling a lil bit. But by the time it reached the walking "reprise" part, I did feel a bit like those passengers :D mission accomplished? XD I think it might be an idea to really "elevatorise" that section (~2:42+) - in a more bleep bloop way?

 

Yes it is as I said - one of those tunes that could almost be pure cheesy or a BigBand... somewhere in the middle.
I tried it as a bossa and it did not work and actually did not sound as cheesy haha..
Yes - it drove me nuts for a while. What made it worse is the main melody is catchy - like one of those TV commercials you wish you had never heard lol

That sums it up perfectly! And with Barry Mannilow selling car insurance / Trump tower suites or something! I can only imagine it must've made you a bit kerazy after a while!

 

Nice instrumentation, and really dig the stellar composition theme ! Loving the idea of the transitions, brilliant. This has to have some commercial viability. damm, you're a heavy hitter huh?

I like it, but the drums really need to be reworked properly when setting up those horn hits in the big band sections

Awesome music @BaSsDuDe ... I love this kind of music... it thrills me and fascinates me... because I know next to nothing of it even though I've heard it quite a bit over time... I experience just as a rapt listener... beautiful!
