    WHAT ???
What's wrong with my comment. I just said my mom liked taskforce's track !!
My mom has been a jazz lover for ever.
I see nothing offending in my comment :dunno:

Or maybe I didn't understand your irony.

Wow, there's an actual @Peter Klausener ! Congrats! Enjoyed the track loads! (Your name didn't come up when I tried to @ you before... )=

(Also, stop making me giggle, @safran5020 !)

Yeah, that is weird, doesn't sound too bad, in comparison - just lil unbalanced. Guess gremlins? (I managed to ruin my own track w/o any help from anyone!)

I disagree I think your tracks is very well done and sounds great, its a great bleeding edge beebop sound that's maybe a little too hardcore jazz for most people.... but Super Sniffer Dog is growing on me. If I had a day to sit down with a bottle of Scotch Whiskey and reminisce about when I used to smoke grass and decompress I might figure it out.

Don't do yourself an injustice it is a great piece.

I like it even if it's not related to the thread and hopefully the song is really yours this time.

As you said, it's a bit short: There are a few good ideas here that you might want to elaborate on.

You've got an obsessional hate/love relation with jazz that shows, made of inferiority complex and various other insecurities.
Jazz is huge, start with something you can relate to based on the other things you like (you seem to like slow pace and minimalism, try "for zoe" & "the change, my girl" from ravi coltrane and "in the slow lane" from kenny barron for instance), then keep on opening up.

Wonderful project, guys. Quite creative and entertaining. I'm very pleased to find this forum putting Jazz on the musical menu and showing the listener just how diverse, rich and exploratory this genre can be when taken seriously. Kudos once again for an effort worthy of congratulations.

Well, done, both of them.

555 sounds very mono, apart from the crackle sound and the delay.

Seems your contribution to the album wasn't a one-hit-wonder. :winker:

The proof is always in the final product, and this ambitiously wonderful work speaks for itself. I listened to every track. Worth every minute of my day. There's a lot of talent at this site. To see mountains of it pool together, is nothing short of beautiful. Well done, gents.

You're more than welcome. Yet, more "diversity" in action at this meaningful site.

@Spyfxmk2 as you know there are different styles of Jazz. The more classic and rigid one is tonal, then comes modal and free Jazz.

Free jazz disregards the harmonic accompaniment and relies on other elements to freely expresses itself. This version is polyphonic and based on improvisation more than anything else. Free jazz is usually unanalyzable by means of traditional tools but for being good at free jazz, detailed knowledge of Jazz is needed. I think it would be helpful to consider those guidelines.:mates:

"888" and "555". Contagious! The piano work on 555 is delightful and quite breezy (love the insertion of the flute). A real treat, man. Thanks immensely for your generous offering.

    I'm kinda lil bit sad that the awesome cover that you did wasn't a bonus track on the album! It was kinda maximum jazz at all times. And it's gone ;____;

Thanks for the feedback, I did try to "ride the line" and not make it too busy, not sure I did exactly? But I did try to make it quite accessible, use familiar everyday mode, time sig, no passing notes etcs. Wasn't deliberately made "difficult" (the reverse) by any means, guess I need to rethink. Only "challenging" thing is slightly weird dnb rhythmic flourishes / stuttery twitchyness. I thought it might be sneered at as too kinda populist / derivative, even! Oops. (I don't think it has enough notes to make it bebop! =)

Thanks for the feedback, twas rly helpful to try to "hear it for the first time" again. I guess I threw too much silly melody at the wall, maybe! It is kinda restless and relentless & I tried to "play away from" cliches and tropes and repetition. I originally wanted it to be quite laid back. Dunno exactly what went wrong! =)
