I bought and installed Nexus2, but have projects with Nexus1 expansions. Im trying to uninstall Nexus2 and reinstall Nexus1, I deleted the Nexus2 app folder/ content folder and .component. But when installing, Nexus1 installer still says "newer version installed" what an i missing? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated and thats for reading.

If you bought it go to reFX site they are very helpful with this common problem.

here's a hint to what to ask them.

"How do i uninstall my Syncrosoft regged Nexus 2"

On PC it's as simple as removing the DLL from your VST plugins folder.

In his case it's a bit more complex than that.

OMG... same procedure every fucking day...

Regedit, search for "reFX" and "Nexus", delete everything you can find, reinstall Nexus. DONE.

This hint (with regedit)) is known for around 15 years, so what's the f*cking problem??

Obviously he wouldn't have asked if you knew it so no need to be disrespectful, your reply is helpful so that part was just unnecessary.

I read those questions every day... since YEARS. That means:
Human kind must be dumb, or too lazy to google (which would lead you much faster to the answer than asking in a forum...).

I have no doubt that you do, just a quick question because i seriously don't know the answer, where is Regedit on the Mac?
because his question is in the Mac / hackintosh section.

    Thanks Professor

You're right! I didn't saw that! In this case:

You don't need regedit, just use the f*cking console!

"I bought a mac, because it's so much better and cooler than a win pc!"
Unfortunately it's not as cool as you think when you can't handle it

    Here and there.
    You have to know this:
    – MAC stores a lot of files when you install something; some are visible - some are hidden.
    – MAC generates "Property List Files" called .plist in your Preferences.
    – MAC stores all Installation PKG's in your "Receipts" folder.
    – MAC stores also licenses.
= If you want to entirely uninstall a software you may remove ALL files! *yes*

    Good luck!

That's because the installer looks in /Library/Receipts/ for already existing versions. There's an XML file in the receipts folder called 'InstallHistory.plist'. Open that (it should open with the Property List Editor by default) and look through the various items (the latest ones are at the bottom of the list) for anything Nexus2 related. Highlight that item number and choose 'delete item' from the toolbar. Then save the file.

Don't throw away the whole InstallHistory.plist file, because then your Mac will want to update everything once you use Software Update.

You might want to remove Nexus2 install packages as well. They should be in /Library/Receipts/ and /Users/yourname/Library/Receipts/. Please keep in mind that I'm using Snow Leopard. If you're on Mountain Lion, Apple might have changed some of the locations. Use EasyFind.
