    to the copyright company.
the government and search engine providers got more income and tax and strengthen the relationship, but its bad for the consumers.
its just another way of rubs the money.
and the music just a brainwash tools since Bach period.

yes, movies and music are on top of their watch list

on the other hand, i really like Google's Play Music service - it's really cheap, but i guess that depends on the country where you live.

The torrent searches I use work as usual for me. Although, I checked rarbg and lots of Depeche Mode albums seem to have disappeared, indeed. The "demonic" website finds them as usual, so is the one that kicks ass, and the one that's about hunting isos. I suppose Swedish pirates are also doing just fine. Yes they are, just checked. :)

You just have to use other websites to download from. That's all. *They* cannot win this, at least not easily. Internet is still thankfully too much of a Wild West. Just put some effort into finding other websites. One website goes down, two new appear...

Honestly with cheap streaming services offering lossless and UHBR AAC subscriptions and the ability to buy older tracks / albums for cheap I think most of the kids don't see a point in the torrent thing anymore.

Besides as @No Avenger suggested many kids are just using Youtube as a music player these days. For the most part I just don't think they even feel the need to think about things like torrents and whatnot.

Cost of 1 Song is still in the $1-$2 range.
1L bottle of water at convince convenience store $1.89
Cost of medium french fries at Mc Donalds $1.69
    Gallon (US) of Gasoline $3.12USD North Eastern USA, $7.25USD Paris France [1 US Gallon = 3.785Liters | €1.609/L | $1.19USD/€1EUR]

I know it is all relative and if you are in a country where you make five to ten dollars a day spending 1 or 2 of those on a song is a lot... though if you are in such dire straights then even electricity and a computer are not affordable.

It is a shame about the torrents though because I used to look for hyper-esoteric stuff that you just couldn't find in stores or online, which was even hard with torrents because they are somewhat of a popularity contest and now once more I guess it will just not be found.

For reference tracks - I would buy them from reliable source.. I also buy all the tracks that I use commercially (..or just want them to sound good an DJ equipment). Other than that, what can not be found on this or that torr..? It's just that you can easily get an x AAC/mp3 converted to flac.

The most reliable source for me though, was Usenet. Especially, if you have access to (usually semi to fully closed) search engine -NZB indexer. But this, plus usenet access sums to an amount that I rather spend on buying music..

Hmm, I'm still able to find everything I want to download. There are millions of resources all over the net. Even good old FTP search Engines are still available (To Moderator...these are no download links but Links to FTP search engines!):
    http://www.mmnt.ru/int/
    https://www.searchftps.net/
    https://filemare.com/

Its even possible to use Google to search on FTP-Servers.
    Lets make one example. Type:

    index of ftp/ +Depeche Mode +mp3

into the google search box. You will receive lists of FTP Servers that have Depeche Mode MP3s on it.

Another way to use google is:
    ?intitle:index.of? mp3 Depeche Mode

With this method its even possible to search for MIDIs or anything else...just replace the filetype MP3 with .mid or anything else

What kind of music do you are searching for? Give me an example.

And just another hint. Simply type Syntax: "Bandsname" "Album-or-track-title" "mp3" "320kbps" (with the brackets!!) to google...the results will be nearly 100% illegal download sites.

I just did a basic search and music is everywhere to dl. You must have magic in your fingers to stop the onslaught of illegal music on the web from appearing in your search results.

There is none. It's an oldschool peer-to-peer network that's been active for like 20 years. Like has been said, some users won't let you download if you don't share some stuff as well, but it's not a big deal at all. And there's much more obscure and rare stuff that you don't find in torrents, which is a godsend for me.
