How do you gate a snare in samplitude pro x?

What I did was.

1. I made an aux bus that has a reverb on it and after the reverb is a gate (efx gate)
2. send the aux bus to the snare
3. click the sidechain input on the gate and pressed the snare bus
4. nothing happens? the aux bus disappers and becomes a "sidechain bus" lol

I know im doing something wrong. But can anyone help?

Should I make another aux bus 2 and route the sidechain of the gate to the aux bus 2 and send it to the snare so it will be "two send"

any easy way? I mean. How do I do it? Im confused lol.

 

It sounds like you have an audio track's outputs routed directly to an aux channel with reverb/gate. Is the goal to have dry snare hits more isolated from a long reverb tail?

 

hi, you dont need to sidechain things here, just setup an aux as you did and use that only for the effect.

 

So I dont need to sidechain the Gate Plugin?

So Ill just make an AUX with a reverb on it followed by a gate then send that AUX to the snare?
