    Hi guys,
I'm looking for a way to have the Sega Genesis sound.
Specifically the Genesis, not the snes .

    Examples:

This last one is closer still to what I'm looking for:

Any help would be very welcome.

If not a plugin, at least a soundware.. Samples, synth presets etc ...

Yes, thanks to the link you posted first the name of the Chip RYM2612 is mentionedthere, I was able to do a more accurate search.

This is the ones I've found from this page called woolys:
    VOPN, Psg, SN7649, And YM2612...

VOPN and YM2613 are very interesting. But Psg is much easier to understand.

    Any other suggestion?

    plogue is the best
Also Roland clound now have one.
As a striped down version od DX7, any operator plugin do the trick with 8bit drive (go for plogue too) and some kind aof distortion.
The music for old games have really good arrangement (much better than todays standarts, so study of counterpoint, harmony and hard work are needed to replicate. These old music show that anyone (with hard work) can do a lot with really limited resources.
    Cheers

Here are two VST's specifically that EMULATE the Yamaha YM2612 FM chip of the Sega Genesis:

Both are ready to use with preset sounds from various games...

GENNY BETA (this one is free. I personally use on my system) I don't think the developer ever released a version beyond the beta, but honestly its good enough.

FM DRIVE (10 Euros, and you have to wait up to a week for the developer to email it to you). It looks cool , has a nice GUI, but I cant imagine much difference between Genny and FM Drive as far as the actual sounds.

PS: Both are 32 bit so you'll have to use Jbridge to use them in your 64bit host

Also there is VOPM (Free, and I also use) which is not specifically themed after the Genesis as two above are, but will emulate the Genesis FM chip/sounds as well:
    https://www.kvraudio.com/product/vopm-by-sam

I also have a complete library of the sounds/patches used on all the tracks of sega games that can be imported and used in VOPM. The sounds patches for the games you posted (like Castlevania) are in this library, you can download the library here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1_2hCkE-iFpKpdxirmOKvC7AnazholeWO

This. I found this one to be the most accurate. Be sure to use the updated VOPMex version: http://picopicose.com/software.html
Also here is a link to VOPM presets ripped straight from various Genesis games https://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=277864
There used to be a version with a nice skin by Jasinski but I can't find it anymore. Also be aware that preset switching is broken in FL Studio, I use Xlutop Chainer to circumvent that.
