    Greetings there,

Had a quick question for those of you using the latest Kontakt and customizing it. In the past, creating custom wallpapers using Mini-NICNT was the deal for creating custom wallpapers and adding them to kontakt. But with the latest version and the numerous changes NI have made, has anyone been able to create Master tabs?

Just want to know if anyone out there has created or have been using collection in the newer version of Kontakt and how that is working out for you. Share how you did and if it is working well for you.

    Thanks

@metaller well that is not a good sign. I had noticed when adding a new library into 5.7.3, it wouldn't populate correctly when I used the "manage libraries" tab in kontakt. I had to close it out and add the library via the outside tool. Then when I opened Kontakt back up, the library would be there but it asked to locate the library. Once located, it all worked perfectly.

I really do hope there is a way to create master tabs. I would hate to go through "all" the stuff I have:(

There has to be something or someone out there that could help. I am tempted to just try the one thing that I came across here on AS and see if that works.

so it looks like there's no way in the new versions. BUT, I found the workaround, and while it sounds like a pain in the butt, it's really not that bad.

    1) Go here: https://www.native-instruments.com/en/support/downloads/update-manager/?q=kontakt&t=updates

    2) DOWNLOAD old version Kontakt 5.1

    3) Open it and make all of your library/tab changes

    4) Open Native Access and instantly update to newest version of Kontakt (currently 5.8) which only takes about 15 seconds... and all your changes will be there saved.

I was dreading going through that process, and once I did it I realized how easy it actually is. Just save the kontakt 5.1 dmg file on hand so anytime you want to go back, just run the installer, make your folder changes, and then update back to 5.8

I've done it a couple times this past week, and it's pretty simple! hope this helps!

just keep an old Kontakt 5.exe file and use that when you gonna do that old stuff. Think that should work

Oh man!!! Thank you so much for finding this out! I will definitely try this out on PC and see if it works. I am using AUDiTOR's version of Kontakt. So I will have to see about reverting and updating but this sounds really promising! Thank you again!!!

Yes, keeping earlier builds of the Kontakt 5.exe (notably v5.6.5 for that matter) close at hand is your salutable solution, for adding older libraries to both 5.7.3 and 5.8.0. Downgrade, load up, revert back to current version.

    AUDiTOR's 5.7.3 is highly commendable.

I was happy AUDiTOR's version came out and then there was the video showing how to have the one version installed in conjunction with the other...Mind Blown.

I was just wondering if that method that was shared could actually work for making tabs and such and then have that transferred over into 5.7.3? I have yet to mess with 5.8 since it is still new and I am waiting to see what the news is with how it is handling. But, I have AUDiTOR's version set up and I will try this out!!!
