    Hi brothers and sisters,

This thread is an attempt to inject some humor into the Forum with a dose of reality check. Feel free to contribute, cast your vote and keep it clean.

Some signs the you are addicted to Audio Warez:
    • You wake up and the first thing you do is run to your computer to find out what was uploaded
on AudioZ while you were asleep.
    • You have dozens of Kontakt libraries that you know you would never use in your projects.
    • You keep asking R2R for the new Nexus crack because reFX says that it is "all you will ever need to create the next hit".
    • You are having a fit because ONE Maschine library that you downloaded only works with version 2.7.
    • You have over 1000 VST's but continue to use the same 30 plugins in all your projects.
    • You have over 1000 VST's but only know how to properly use a dozen.
    • You have Ableton, FL Studio, Pro Tools, Bitwig, Reaper, Cubase, Cakewalk, Logic,Studio One, etc., yet you have not mastered either one of them.
    • You spend more time downloading WAREZ and asking how to install it than actually making music.
    • Your cable company sends you a bill every month because you exceeded your monthly broadband-limit.
    • Every month you update all your WAVES plugins.
    • You are on Windows but still download warez for Mac and vice versa.
    • You install a new update knowing that some of the features available with your current version will not function properly with new one.
    • Your partner suspects you of online dating or watching porno because you are constantly glued to Audiosex.
    • You have warez versions of every legit program that you own.
    • Every year you hope that the new Cubase is cracked.
    • You really think that having hundreds of plugins will make you a superstar.
    • You go nuts when you can not access AudioZ.
    • You keep repeating yourself that using warez is not wrong because you solely are trying it before buying it.

When a new ware (every kind) is posted there, this is my action:
    :deep_facepalm:

They're just wasting their time and energy.

  5. I am not, though I do really enjoy being able to have the opportunity to check out so much of what comes down the Dev pike. I only use what I have bought, a few gimme instruments from friends and a bunch of free instruments I have collected over the years. If for some reason the well dried up I would be just fine, bummed out, but fine.

    Haha, great post!
I suffered from this addiction, thankfully only when I was starting out here and learning which tools I liked and would consistently use, and which I did not. To be frank, I don't think 2 weeks to a months worth of demo time is enough to consider if hundreds of dollars worth of software is going to end up being useful to you as you are starting this journey. So for this, I thank Audioz that I was able to choose my weapons without being "under the gun" myself.
I'm hopeful that after my new build, my plugin list will go from over 1K to around 250 or so. Why don't I ever uninstall anything?

The term AUDIO WAREZ ADDICTION refers to a compulsive behavior in which the excessive accumulation of more or less worthless virtual instruments and effects on a hard drive becomes important, combined with the inability to get rid of the software again and keep order. In extreme cases the computer is then no longer functional, it looks like a junkyard or landfill. The disease syndrome is attributed to the compulsive spectrum disorders. Excessive collection of VST plugins is mostly due to a mental disorder.

@digitaldragon I confess that I am the worst kind. I have a system running strictly cracks of my legit software. And the majority of WAREZ I do have, I have installed it after buying it. Surprisingly, many of the cracks do run smother than the legit ones. There must be a connection between the protection code and its impact on the application itself. Also, some are very convenient, for example the portable ones.

So I guess some of us are on the right path to stardom by having something in common with many of the greatest composers and musicians that have lived.

    You missed out :-

Buying a hard drive every 2 months

    And

having computers running on every operating system known to man just in case the software becomes available for the wrong one

    :P
    --------------------------
Poor boy, in denial :P ( I'm olny pulln your leg SLS)

    --------------------------------------------------

I would have said no to most of those but then there was something I just realised. whenever I go away on holiday, the first thing I do when I get home is switchthe PC on, and no, not view emails. i come straight here to see what I've missed!

I suppose, I'm addicted to what MIGHT be available, as opposed to d/l everything!

@TonyG, I think running the cracks because they run smoother is a great option to have. It's a shame that we have to resort to this at all. I just became disillusioned myself by the Acustica protection scheme and them trying to shove Aquarius down my throat to fix a licensing issue I'm having. If there was a k'd version available, I definitely would have went that route instead!

As users of their legitimate software we should be allowed to use a warez version without repercussion but as you well know that is prevented by clause which we acknowledged and agreed to prior to installing and using the genuine software.

    Guilty as charged :lmao:

    With a few differences:

I do it with every ampsim and virtual electric guitar. But I don't ask R2R. I'm a man with class: I ask Team VR

Even worse. I spend more time explaining others fellow addicted users how to install 'em .....:scrapbox:

Let's add my cell company to the party...

don't even install them but hell yeah, you bet I download 'em all...

Sometimes I wonder: what if I try to run every music warez I've on a brand new Windows XP partition? :invision:

I passed that stage but you never know.. I could be wrong so.... I keep trying plugins anyway!:metal:

Who would have a PC if it wasn't for the warez?
And you Hackintoshers don't try to oversmart me... Hackintosh is technically warez... hell yeah, I'm the man :disco:

You purchase thousands of dollars worth of UAD plugs to only find yourself back on audioz looking for the best EQ :deep_facepalm:

I've been "addicted" some years ago, I was not only downloading, but trying almost everything ... With the consequences for my computer: crashes etc ...
Now I work with fewer vst(i) that I know better and I only update sometimes per year. I have more time to compose and play...
Even so I still have much more than what I use...
Hopefully a guitar or a bass could be crackable, just to try it before buying ... LOL

Yall need to go to a "warez anonymous convention" or something.

Me I'm not addicted. I'm not in denial. In fact. I just opened our sister site a while ago to check if... (oh sh**!*)
