    Summary of Melody and lines.

We use the information which we covered in the chords section with addition of some unique techniques.

    1. we highlight the 3rds and 7ths in our melody as string anchors.
    2. we use grace notes AKA leading tones AKA "embellishments" which means a half step below our note or above (orscale tone above below
3.we use octave displacement to land on a octave higher or below same note in the line or melody.
4.we use triads forward and backward in our melody
    5. we use arpeggios ascending and scale tones descending ( sometimes you can flip that order though)
    6. we can use extended descending scale runs which include specific grace notes for each type of chord.

and lastly we combine these 7 things together in different ways while having chord tones on the "on" beat and the "off" beat can also be chord tones, scale tones, or grace notes "(however we divide the group of note up in a moment)

This information in this thread broken into chords chord progressions and melody and lines is the easiest way to start playing JAzz.
you can take everything that is here ( information) and reverse engineer and traditional jazz tune or song and see how it was constructed and improvise along with it. you can write anything new from scratch yourself.(and improvise)
Even though I tried to simplify as much as possible it is pretty detailed but you can and will accomplish what you want if you take your time go through it, You can be playing Jazz right away!

too sophisticated, the jazz theory(and others theories) has a easiest way to describe.
    1 start from a chord A
2 give a founction to A, I or V or something, doesnt matter.
3 connect to next chord B, give the function to B, I for ending or everything was ok,

the chord A and B must existed in western tonal system, regardless the harmony techniques.
back to start, you must know that everything you did was makes western tonal system alive(hes dead, indeed), if your chords derived or modified from western tonal system, the chord would be accepted.

the melody line only existed in vocal leads or some mono instruments like violins,
    single note- melody line
    multi note- harmony chord,
if we talking about harmony techniques the melody should disappeared.

how it was made?- i had typed there.
    how to improvise?-
    step1: press a chord A, maybe 1357 or 1357911,
2 then move the hand, press the note again,
3 make a melody arp from the chord, 1357 to 1-3-5-7
4 make a chord B, make this chord as substitute of A, could be a parallel pivot or have similar chord voice intervals,
5 press a chord C, give the chord founction 1 as ending.

so you believe what you are saying in this comment is all knowledge to understand and play this song?
interesting. thank you for you contributions fine sir.

so i guess if we both did exactly what you say here, at the same time we will start playing a compatible song together?
if we start playing same time say me on trumpet and you on sax, we just guess A,B and C and hope we guess the same?
and what if there are 25 different instruments we all start playing your "system" at the same time following your "system" it will all be beautiful music right?

its not a system, its just another way of thinking.
i think i dont need write more, the most part of jazz theory has already exist in some classical masterpieces, but it was so funny that classic music theory did not wrote those 'jazz theory' at classic music books but jazz theorist did. so i think i could say that jazz theory are especially designed for stupid musician, the jazz theory books must told those learner too much outside the music.

only with missing knowledge of music history would that view make sense. with the complete picture of music history jazz expanded upon the classical theory in large way, i explained much of that here in this thread and in others if it is not obvious to you what those contributions are

my response to you is to read this thread from start to finish to demonstrate to you that your comment doe snot match reality. it is not compatible with the way things happened and what actually occurred.

    take this for instance

that had no existence until jazz.

summary blues ,gospel,Caribbean music , and rag time expanded music theory.
next mixing these togther to create jazz in 1870-1900 expanded music theory.
    1900-1920 jazz expanded music theory
    1920-1935 jazz expanded music theory.
    1935-1947 jazz expanded music theory
    1947-1959 jazz expanded music theory
    1959-1970 jazz expanded music theory

I will now present historical demonstrable evidence of this occurring.

    continuation of above

I have now provided evidence that in reality Jazz pushed music theory forward throughout history.
with the history of what actually happened and all the evidence we have of the music and developments, it can be said to be 100% fact. Jazz developed music theory much much further than classic music theory from 1870-1980 ( and further)
