    Hello Everyone,

I was wondering if someone had this problem or could help solve it!

I have a pair of Yamaha´s HS7 which go into my M-Audio Fast Track C400, which all of a sudden after 5-10 minutes of use, the volume on everything from mp3, web, to the DAW suddenly goes down and up with no idea why!

This only happens with the monitor´s volume, if I use headphones or record anything there is no volume change at all!

I´ve updated the M-Audio drivers, windows 10 drivers (x64 version of Windows). The monitor's volume level is half below +4 dB and I´ve tried all the setting below which are room control and high trim. I´ve changed the cables from XLR to 1/4 and 1/4 to 1/4, still nothing!

Both monitors are connected to a voltage regulator and not directly into the light interrupter. so I think
    it´s not a voltage issue? I don´t know?!

Has anyone had this issue? any ideas how to solve this?

I´m not an audio expert but I´ve tried to search everywhere and found no solution!

    Thanks, everyone! :)

All I can think of for troubleshooting is to borrow another audio interfase, hook it up, and see if it produces the same volume drop. That would discard the audio interfase. I suspect it could be the cause. You could even try hooking up the audio output of your internal sound card to your monitors directly.

  6. There was no answer to the question though. After seeing the horror show, customer after customer having issue after issue with this box, it is a wonder to me how a company could foist a product like this with such promises of wondrous abilities then leave them in the lurch trying to untangle and leave them hanging. I bet you bought this 2nd or 3rd hand.

I meant your response of trying with a different interface...

I actually got this brand new for 45$ USD at a sale a few year's back, the guy was closing his shop and I knew nothing of audio at all!

But it served it's purpose okay for more than two years, perhaps it's a divine sign to buy a real interface now! :)

:guru: As this seems to happen to your monitors only, I'm quite sure it is no interface issue, but a Windows one.
Windows has a setting that can reduce the output volume of your monitors on telephone activity e.g. ...
And check in your control panel if there is any hidden volume leveler in the background affecting this issue, I don't know your settings, but maybe this worths a try before changing any hardware components.

    https://www.tekrevue.com/tip/windows-reducing-system-volume/

If this did NOT help, another chance would be to record your audio output via Audacity e.g. while playing.
If the volume drop is due to your speakers only, it won't be recorded.
If it is recorded anyway, your interface or your driver will be the origin.

    Good luck!

  9. There are a bunch of very good to great soundcards on the market nowadays for under 500 bills, and the used market, even more cost effective, and so if nothing qualms your woe you can get a Focusrite, Steinberg, Audient or another to replace the doorstop you have now.
