Hey all, i can't work out for the life of me what i've done wrong here. I've completely reinstalled os x and installed exactly as per instructions on sister site. I open up the 5.6.0 app to add libraries but then when i close and reopen either the 5.6.0 or even the 5.7.3 standalone app they're not there.

I've tried multiple libraries and it looks as though the Kontakt app is not even writing xml files for the libraries i add into the application support/service centre folder.

I know there's the trick with modifying the xml file to match the ninct "SNPID" and i can't even locate the xml in the library/app support/service centre folder. It's like kontakt isn't even making the xml files on 'add library'.

I've also tried wiping kontakt completely using instructions from other threads and trying my other kontakt [k] versions that i've installed previously that added libraries fine and i'm still haviung the same issue.

I've searched everywhere to see if anyone is having the same problem but to no avail. I'm running OS X 10.12.6 on a 2015 macbook pro.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as i've spent hours trying to trouble shoot this problem with no luck :(

library/app support/Native Instruments/service centre folder <— must have admin privileges or Kontakt cannot write xml files in it

Library folder in root location, your hard drive directly. Not the Library under Users!

    @ Mock:

Just make Info ( Command + I) on Service Center folder

If there's no "admin" in one of the three listed privileges, just double click on the bottom right lock icon,
fill in the admin password to unlock and add the admin user using the "+" button, choosing "read/write" privileges

^ Yeah sorry… I was to quick to post the file path (now edited)

When a library fails to show up there's others things as well to take care of:

    1) make sure that also the content of the same folder does have admin privileges: RW
    2) (eventually) delete the xml file and redo a new nicnt file with a different SNPID number
    3) check if SNPID number does match in nicnt and xml file (if not edit the xml file with, i.e, Text Edit and save)

Of wich libraries you're talking about ?

when adding a library the xml files in service centre are created, this always worked for me
tried the above with no joy, librarys are Nord and Soul Trilogy
just tried to add Motors and it doesn't remember that either

Edit- choosing a different SNPID worked!
thanks for the help (and patience!)

I’m having the same problem, add libraries through kontakt 5.6.0, they show up in the side bar...open kontakt 6 and they’re gone, no xml or anything

open 5.6.0 up again and there’s nothing there anymore

You're probably creates a temp file on your desktop. If so, all you need to do is rename it the nicnt named file with extension .xml. save that to the service center folder.
