    I make edm/electro pop music
I actually use KRK Rokit 6 in my home studio. I'm thinking about an upgrade: what model of speakers do you recommend to use with (at the same time) my krk rokit 6?

I use these at a studio I work out of sometimes. I also have the option of using Adam A7's or whatever they are. The Yamaha's present the music much more accurately. My mixes translate well when mixing on the Yamaha's. My mixes come out sounding "dull" when I mix on the Adam's. The Adam's sound great, but they're like a Hi-Fi sound system. The high-end is hyped up and very unrealistic which results in making the wrong choices when EQ'ing or using Exciters. The Yamaha's essentially sound like shit, and that's a good thing. Make your mixes sound good through them and your mixes sound good practically anywhere and everywhere.

Also, personally, I would recommend against using two sets of monitor speakers at the same time. Use them back to back, one set at a time.

Throw them out of a window and buy new normal monitors.

I make kind of the same genre, working with Dynaudio BM6A since 6 years now (I bought then from a techno producer). I find them way more precise than brand new Rokit 6 from a friend, and also got a good responce in the low spectrum (I also use a subpac to complement them when working on sub frequencys)
But yes, as LeviD said, you can keep both to compare and have differents speakers "point of vue" but not at the same time

I recommend the JBL lsr305's. About the same budget with way better sound. Check them out.
I recently switched from the krk's. Huge difference.

If you have the money, APS KLASIK.

Also depends on what your expectations are, how big your room is, if you want smaller speakers/larger..., how much $ you can afford to spend.

Are you newbie in music? :deep_facepalm:
If you write music for soundcloud with 1 person subscribed thats ok. Or maybe that would be ok for drunk club that listen to how their brains cutted with hypersaw.
For very delicate mixing process with great result KRK are forbidden as much as dynamics on your 55'' plasma

First of all, spell that word in a mirror.
Second, doesn't matter how many tracks have you released and on what biggest label, i know guy releasing shit-mixed on armada sublabel.
Third, you are showing your unprofessionalism by telling here KRK is OK. It shows your level on understanding acoustics. I can mix for biggest label with home hi-fi system and then check it in a car once. It is my skills, i can mix on a pot. But it is my long experience. And this is my tragedy i can't afford before good equipment. If you doesn't have choice use Rockit please on your biggest(you think so) label:deep_facepalm:

Well, they are better then home hi-fi system, but believe me, if you worked on an much expensive american acoustics, you will never be want to use Rockit again

I love their surgery hi-end. But - 1. There are some problem zones in mid range they don't reproduce qualitely. 2.You don't cover sub with them. How do you know what is going on there? Leaving sub untreated - dull sound mix. Having separate sub is a good idea even for big diameters of base monitor speakers

At the same time? Unless you're really into phasing, don't do it.

At the same time only something like KRK 8S2, 10S2, or 12S2.

As long as we seem to be having a discussion about KRK, does anybody have experience with their higher end models, such as the V8 S4, or the RP 10-3. I am looking into some new speakers for an octophonic studio, I need full range speakers everywhere, no subwoofer.

I know, we were young LOL

I think KRK Rockit are a startpoint for all teenagers...they basically are toys but they helped me making music these years. Now I need an upgrade...
Pretty nice advice, if it sounds ok to yamaha it'll be sounds good everywhere.

So KRK works decently with edm...

I stared recording more often lot of real instruments like acoustic guitar or piano (oh, and voice of course).
I don't want to change completely my monitor if possible, I think comparison between KRK and an other monitor can help my mix sounds better.
You think yamaha is right for this? So producing with KRK and "verify" my work with yamaha?
