Fact: Opamps and Transistors use DC for biasing.

In the lab we have high precision DC Power Supplies that can cost thousands of pounds to test circuits which minimize the DC ripples.
Also circuits are able to reject this ripple to some extend depending on the design.

I can tell you that no one really cares about the cables.

Next in line: UAD publishes research they made about Waves plugins, revealing that they have "a plasticky sound", and recommending you try UAD plugins.

You realize how much cable there is between your wall socket and the power station?

    Conspiracy theory never dies!:bleh:

In the digital era, every process is being controlled by the Error detection & correction algorithms. These algorithms kill the damaging consequences of any analog or digital failure in the transmission lines and communication channels.

  6. I don't think that I ever noticed a difference in quality when changing out a power cable. On the other hand, I certainly have heard a very noticable difference when using a well made power supply vs a cheap one from a far eastern country used to power up a Neumann U67. It was in probably in the mid 90's and the mic was used as a mono room mic for a drum set. The original was fried and the engineer needed it NOW. He called a friend in Van Nuys who had a studio and was lent a backup that the dude had around just in case. When after the mic was warmed up the sound was nothing like I remembered the mic to sound like, it was as it was buffered, the highs out of character and the lows smeared. They cut the track, but a few days later when the old PS came back we all were rather shocked at the difference, but the 4 or 5 tracks already recorded couldn't be done again because of time restraints. Good thing we had tracked the vocals with my new Rode Classic and not the 67!

  10. This one sucks worse than the original, quite a feat, indeed.

  12. My friend Joe Ism did this cover of the Partridge Family hit "I think I Love You" and tormented David Cassidy for years, showing up at his appearances and being a huge thorn ( more acted like a big prick, but it was kinda funny) in his side. In keeping with the theme of the thread, I believe, if memory serves me right, that part of Joe's treatment of David was because Cassidy believed that an expensive power chord helped make his stereo speakers sound more euphonic, with a wider soundstage and sweeter highs. I might be mistaken though! :winker:
