    Yo,

Someone didn't like the mix I made, but I won't tell you why he didn't like it so you can be objective. But you need to know that my client liked my mix.

I need a objective and constitutive feedback. You can also select a score for mix.

    Thank you,
    Cheers.

i like the sound of the bassgit, but i think it´s a little bit to loud
    same for the hi-hat
also the toms(?) in (for example) 0:40 - to loud/to much in the front
    (only my subjective opinion)
    Nice Song!

Despite the fact that Turkish Pop & Rock music beside most countries' are stupid and irrational, yours glitters. Congratulations for the atmosphere!

    Thank you for sharing!

For my personal taste, I would cut the level of the bass guitar and the synth pads and raise the levels of the guitar... Also thought the vocals weren't clear to my ears (too much reverb?)... Of course that could be because they're not in English ...

    Just my subjective opinion.

Sorry to jump in with a different reason as to why he probably said he didn't like it. I think you went FAR too heavy on the reverb. Reverb is supposed to enhance a track, not drown it out.

I'm not going to give a track points. I would sooner tell you where you went wrong.

Sorry, I skimmed past and missed that!

Actually I prefer clarity on vocals but my client wanted this. And yes, the guy who didn't like the mix said "I can't understand words" and "Mids are peaking". But this is the genre. This is not a commercial song. I don't know... And I don't believe that mids are peaking.

This track needs lots of re-tweaking. Reverb, EQ and dynamics....too much info to write.

Sorry but this is not a constitutive feedback. I want to know my mistakes if you have time to write them. And I need this.

Yes, too bass heavy and verby for my personal taste. But even with that said, it could just be the verb itself and not its overuse--if you were specifically going for a verby sound. Whatever verb you used in this is quite 'washy', like an aural fog, and not very flattering. I think something more clear and atmospheric would sound better.

Less reverberation would be good. The effects of guitars bother me a little. Remix with no effect and add them as you go. Otherwise, nice quiet track that lets listen.

  16. I am killing time atm at my present spot on earth and haven't my cans with me and certainly not my monitors (am far from home). I feel it imperative to mention that just because the client likes the mix doesn't of course mean that the mix is a good one. Try to help them to understand that it would serve their best interest to show the world their best effort and not what might be quick and convenient, the sooner the better. Even just listening on my tablet can I hear how the reverb is drowning in reverb, and not in a way that enhances the mix. In addidition, putting this on your resume wouldn't be conducive to obtain future business. If they insist on using it without at least one revision ask not to be credited as the mix engineer...really. Just take the money and walk away.

While I agree that @von steyr's post didnt deserve a nasty rating, i disagree with your post about the girl...

Billy Bob Thornton is usually nasty in every role...

Consider ducking the reverb on the vocals so that you can have a little bit less of the microphone in a toilet bowl effect.

Consider less reverb on the instruments as well, or some very complex combinations of ducking and gating. If they really want a cathedral sound, maybe they should consider recording in large space - live, U2 style. DAWs and modern mixing might seem like magic, but all magic has its limits. Keep the reverb to minimum on low end instruments, it's just noise that builds up later. Without Doppler shifts the directional nature of low frequencies bellow 200Hz in humans is very poor.

I am sorry to not be more informative, I dig the vibe, but there is just too much of it and the elements all seems disconnected from each other.

Do what you want first and then - tweak it for the client, that way you can't blame your sound on the clients sensibilities.

Sorry, I couldn't be more helpful. I do hope it works out for you in the end though.
