Almost anything by Tony Iommi (Sabbath) or Dave Gilmour (Pink Floyd) anyday of the week

But then on a different day I might say Thunderstruck by ACDC

I´m not so rocker but don´t forget "Beat it" (I understand a riff like a phrase that repeates in the base of the musical arrange)

Hmm Comfortably Numb is NOT a guitar riff great solo though.
    Neither is Marooned.
The Guitars only do solos over background music..

A RIFF is a short phrase played over and over Smoke On The Water i.e
Or a chord sequence like AC/DC:s Back In Black
Or melody phrase played over and over again like Black Dog Led Zep-

If it is a SOLO phrase played over and over it is mostly called LICK

Like the one Angus plays in the beginning of Thunderstruck.

    My 5 are
In no particular order and i could mention 50 more that i like as much as the ones i mention.

    Black Dog
    Mississippi Queen
    Stargazer
    Sad But True
Money thats is a RIFF that Gilmore does very well.

Thanks for pointing out the mistake.. It should have been SOLO rather than Riff..
