I don't know why all the producers say transparent
it is just a filter not limiter or mastering compressor

Autofilter in ableton or EQ8 disaable all other bands and use one band as filter.
for whole groups im using Sonalksis Creative FIlter, comes in stereo and mono variant.
i dont need gazillion filter modes or a crazy cpu hit for a f***ing filter plugin.

its been for years like this and its the most cpu light and quickest way i found for me.

I find interesting that in a crowded market, not as much as basic Eqs and comps but still big, you guys remarkably agree. Even on stock plugins like Ableton's.

Everything by Unfiltered Audio. While none of them are "technically" filters, they all "technically" are.

I find it interesting that just by taste in filters [hw/VST] you can tell a lot about the person who uses it. And I'm not trying to be funny.

I like The Trash and The Drop. Pretty much sticking with these, really. Sometimes Volcano. I like to keep it simple with only a few choices. It's better to focus on music and creativity instead of thinking about what filter to use. Test them, choose 2-3 of them, forget others.

I make no bones about Ohmicide being my favourite filter plugin, (Great if I'm setting up some filtered drums to start with etc) however, if I decide I need to use a filter midway, or later on in the mix, ill pick the stock ableton filter, or camel phat/camel crusher because they are just so easy to get the desired effect with minimal effort.

Right, to much plugin bias can be harmful to creativity, but still in setup phase here

I really like WOW 2 for creative filter needs. For everything else, Ableton's Auto Filter.

I use WOW2 alot too. If you're able, use the iOS version because, with Multitouch you can control multiple parameters simultaneously with your fingers versus the desktop version where you can only control one parameter at a time with the mouse.
And with StudioMux I can use it with my DAWs.

Doesn't the iOS version of WOW2 lag too much when you want to make a quicker filter sweep, Pinkman?

For final mixes / mastering, STEREO TOOL!!! :D

    https://www.stereotool.com/

He's added a lot to it lately, including AUTO EQ, and even a separate AUTO BASS EQ.

I pretty much just use autofilter.

I've got a couple fancy filter plugins but... why bother?

Because it's better sounding? :) However, Kjaerhus Autofilter... I haven't used it much and it's been a long while. Maybe it does sound nice. It kinda depends on what you're trying to do and what your audio source is/sounds like.
