I have found some digital EQ's can be harsh, digital and brittle sounding, like it's just distorting my pristine recording.

What is the smoothest & most natural EQ plugin money can buy?

Nice I'm yet to try Nebula, looks great...

One of the most analog EQ I've found so far is Boz Hoser, there are a LOT that I have tried that are just plain MEH :dunno:

That Eiosis Air is absolute trash, I don't rate any of their plugins!

is it just me or are all IK multimedia plugin's - pretty lame?

FLUX Epure is insanely clean, incredible, I've never heard of anything even close to it, and my other favorite go-to is pro-q 2 because of UI (doesn't sound as good as Epure)

i'll have to agree to certain extent, it's great for seeing your frequency balance, to eq at the same time & to notch non musical frequency out but for me it stops there.

i then replace the curves with more musical eq's that best complements the frequency zone, for example:

    Sub-bass - Pultech, Moog

Bass - Manley Massive Passive, Api 550b

    Lower-Mids - W295B, W495

    High-Mids - Neve 1073, W295B, W495, MMP

    High - Neve 1073, W295B, MMP

Thank you kind Sir for an education!

These are great, particularly the Eric Beam article which is an amazing insight.

    Quote:

"Digital emulations for the most part are marketing hype in my opinion. If you use a variable PEQ like the one that comes native with your host & saturation tools, you will be able to recreate just about any classic console EQ aesthetic you have heard."

This info is GOLD in a very confusing world of plugins!

Each developer desperately claiming there plugs have that vintage mojo. BUT never given the customer the respect of transparency, NEVER detailing what components they have chosen in the design. LIARS and THIEFS! EVERY ONE OF THEM! LOL....:bleh:
