So I just got my hands on the NI's Symphony Series Percussion Set and have been stuck trying to loading it into kontakt. It is driving me insane. I am on OS X 10.12

I originally i was v5.6.8 and found that its no longer possible to add libraries. Did an implace downgrade to v5.6.6.

Tried to add with v5.6.6, kontakt crashes the minute I type my pw in. Not visible in v5.6.6 nor v5.6.8 when i do an update. Kontakt crashes every time i try to add the library.

Tried v5.6.5 no crash but again not visible in v5.6.8.

Tried in v5.6.0 adds it and is visible in it only if i keep that session open. If i close kontakt and re-open it the library is not visible. After update to v5.6.8 not visible.

I tried taking a copy of the v5.6.0 .app file and then doing an install with v5.6.8 ontop. When i open the v5.6.0 app and load the library it shows up briefly as before, but does not show up in v5.6.8.

I have read somewhere that it could be not visible due to conflicting ID in the .xml file in /Library/Application Support/Native Instruments/Service Center/Symphony Series Precussion.xml. Tried changing the SNPID, no luck.

I tried using both cracked and strait from NI website versions of Kontakt to add and view, still having the same issues.


Any help, ideas or what is the official/ recommended way to re-install clean Kontakt between version changes would be appreciated.

 

I don't think Kontakt is the problem. Yes, in a way it is, but my recommendation would be to locate all references to Symphony Series Percussion. xml, plist, bom, pkgs, anything in application support... I use a mac so I don't know if the same applies on a PC. I then clear user caches and go back to step one. Try and load the library into 5.6.6. It will crash. Then open 5.6.8 and the library will hopefully be there.

 

Are you able to say where exactly i am looking for these files, i have no idea how to use a mac and the search function is unless.

 

Well, good news, bad news.

Good news is i think i got it to load using an unckracked v5.6.0 .app and having a cracked v5.6.8. For some reason it now shows up and loads.

Bad news, no idea what i did different this time.

 

I had same problem. You need change the snpid number of the xml created (when you add the library) for the original number in the nicnt. This worked for me

That's the only method that works for me.

 

I think that is what did it for me, well fixing up the .xml. When the lib was originally added it has the same SNPID as the nicnt file but that for some reason did not show up. So i changed to some dif, nothing.

What I did notice was my .xml was missing a few lines in the ProductHints section that the nicnt had. Added them in, and since then it seems to work.

Not sure if thats was it was, as I was messing around a bit at this point.

 

Previously installed libraries are working fine, but attempting to add new ones causes a crash immediately after entering admin password. SNPID matches between .xml and .nicnt, so I'm kind of at a loss.

 

Use Kontakt 5.6.0 app to add library.

 

I'm using 5.6.6, which was working before I upgraded to Mojave.
