Hello,

I have Omnisphere, (in one post I said "I bought" and there was a problem). Yes I bought from somebody on internet, I didn't download, because I have slow internet and it is easier for me to pay 10 euros instead to download. It is not original version. I can't replay on posts there to explain that, so I wrote here.
Back to problem.
My software version is 1.0.1e, Soundsources 1.0.2, and patches version is 1.5.
I don't know how to update software to minimum 1.5. I have iPad 2 and there is Omnisphere TR controller which I can't use.
I downloaded all updates that I found. I start setup, start installation and when open Cubase 5, and load Omnisphere, it is old 1.0.1e software version.
I am PC user. If anybody know the answer, I would be grateful.

Try:
1. Delete omnisphere
2. Remove all omnisphere vst/rtas files
3. Re-install omnisphere (and remember the location of the vst/rtas dll file)
4. Apply each update sequentially (eg 1.01, 1.02.... all the way to 1.5.6) since you have all the updates
5. Make sure you specify the correct location of the steam folder every time you update
6. When installing the last update, note down the location where it is installing the vst/rtas plugin. After the update finishes, navigate to the location you just noted down, and copy the dll file and replace the dll of the original installation.

p.s. Before you re-install, install the last update and do step 6 and see if that works.

Make sure you update soundsources and patches as well.

did u check if it installs in the right folder?

 

Yes I did.
I thought that's a problem, but tried to install in Spectrasonics folder, Cakewalk, Cubase, Stainberg/Vst...and nothing changes.

 

I will try it tomorrow. I didn't know that I must download all updates for software update. I'm going to find all that updates.

I don't know. What to do with STEAM?

 

u install the updates there,it s supposed to do it automatically when u install it,read carefully the folders it asks u where u want to install the software

 

To install patches library, soundsources and software in STEAM folder? When I start 1.5.6d, software update, there are 32 bit vst installation and 64 bit. My windows is 64 bit, so i have to install 64 bit installation only?

It HAS to be installed in the STEAM folder... period.

 

No need to uninstall and reinstall
You have to MANUALLY overwrite the files to the STEAM folder NOT USE THE EXE FILE.
This is a common problem on some machines the exe files dont work propertly it doesnt overwrite the steam folder.
The updates comes rar compressed right?
If you unrar the update you find an exe file and if i remember correctly two folders in one of those folders you will find a folder called STEAM now locate your STEAM folder wherever you have installed it and the overwrite MANUALLY that means NOT USING the exe file and that also means COPY not CUT when you overwrite the files.
And b.t.w if it is two folders after you unrar overwrite everything you see
Then run the installer locate where your previouse vst versions is located and overwrite the vst x86 and x64 dll.
You can have both 64 and 32 bit dll files installed if you want otherwise just delete the 32 bit version
Now you should have a fully upgraded version

 

There is a GREAT thread on "another" audio forum that has ALL of the updates collected into
one neat download. By following the instructions in that download it is EXTREMELY difficult
to go wrong.

Yes it is all written down there and if you want the old spectrasonic stuff aswell like Stylys RMX which can be a nightmare to update you find solutions about that also

Does anybody knows how to uninstall Omnisphere? I deleted all folders and dll files but it is still there in Cubase. I want to install all from beginning.

Do a file search for the name omnisphere it must be somewhere on your HD otherwise Cubase wouldnt have recognize it.
