Hey guys, yeah title says pretty much everything.
Im looking for a place to show off some of my work for clients, producers etc...but with a well
protected security scheme. ( if that exists ) A place where all those intenet download managers
wont pick up etc...Anything comes to mind?

I'm using my own server for these things. I give my clients either direct protected links (you can create password-protected directories) or FTP access with password.

The main thing is you should stop Google and other crawlers to see it. So block search indexing on server or pages/directories.

Passwords for the clients & similar? Well, if you HAVE clients you can just put the pass on the archive and mail them..

As I understand the OP, he wants to show openly his work for potential clients. The way to do this and stay protected is IMHO:
- put online just a piece of your music (e.g. - like beatport)
- upload a crappy quality for "preview" and hope at the end, the kids will want a better one (like spotify,..)

Certain servers, usually national radio's/tv's seem to have a way to cut the stream into small pieces. That way the downloader progs have difficulties grabbing the stuff, but I don't know how that's done. And, like webhead mentioned, if it goes through my soundcard/driver/system, I can grab it.. one way or the other.

BTW, the most important thing before doing anything is to protect your work legally..

You could also upload your songs to soundcloud and share a private link ...

 

I just use Google Music and I think you can share a playlist as need be. The other free services seem to downsample the music.

 

What the man said. You can't close the analog hole. If it turns into sound, you can record the sound.

 

Anything that can be PLAYed, but not DOWNLOADed, can be ripped/recorded online with any editor.

My audio interface has even a preset called "loopback". Anything audio played on/with/by the PC is looped back into the DAW to be recorded.

Buy a domain/host and upload there. Heck, you can also create a website with your music and include a radio plugin or media plugin and they simply listen while browsing your stuff

 

If it comes out of my speakers, I can take it, Loopbacks, direct record, etc...

The only way to protect snippets is to either have audible tags on them, or create a DJs set of your works and every 30 seconds have sound FX, flips, and scream out "DJ @vpmitchell dropping beats on your ass," "DJ @vpmitchell doping your ass up with some dope beats," and act like all around great hype-man flavor-flav, the more creative you are about it the less annoying it will be.
