I'm not on many trackers right now but I was reading about people who fake their ratios. It seems easy on windows -- anyone do it on mac?

Yep.

Trackers don't track actual traffic. They track whatever the torrenting app tells them.

There are super easy to handle programs which do exactly that. They inform a fake upload info to the tracker, without actually uploading anything.

They're mostly undetectable by the tracker, unless you're super stupid and configure it for abnormal upload speeds and things like that.

Useful to keep up with private trackers which require undemocratic uploading ratios, etc...

Whatever you download at VERY LEAST you should share 1,5 times (thus 150%) of what you download to keep the download alive and think about others.

DO NOT DO THIS. If you get caught you will get punished, and perhaps in more places you'd expect. It ruins the economy. Really, it's not that hard to contribute, even if it's not by seeding.

 

There are certain circumstances which make these apps useful and even necessary.

For example, some countries have awful internet services, specially regarding upload speeds, making it impossible for someone to keep up with private trackers and their very demanding upload ratios.

Of course, if one has access to good internet services and still decides to use such apps, it would certainly qualify him as an asshole.

But...Like I said, there are different cases.

 

Can someone point to a mac app for this? Preferably one that works with transmission.

trying to spoof a tracker only works if the tracker is not coded well, in my case it will not work!! Sure the tracker will see that you are uploading but on our end we see that you actually are not connecting to other peers and that they are not uploading(sharing) to you, It's a big risk, only try to spoof on sites that you really have no plan on being a real member of, otherwise a well coded system will catch on regardless and kick you from the site. Truly FTP is the real way to go

@sk8816 If you're trying to get over on one the the better known Audio torrent sites, It will work ,but not for long. Fair warning. it's a risk, Guys like @SAiNT realized this years ago and that is why the "Sister Site" is doing so well.FTP, Direct links and a VPN is all you should need

Yep, Torrent systems are literally built around the concept of "Sharing is Caring" and they will IP ban a person quick if they get caught then let to all the other sites that they know of and are friendly with know about it. At the end of the day the person simply stuck watching midget pron or lots of kitty vids 'cause that will be that they can get

I don't think rutracker does this kicking thing. It is the best website I have discovered last year and I seed for one week whatever I download from there.

No they do not, That tracker is membership based and by that I mean it the members that upload(share). I have no need for any of that. I'm a FTP guy. I go straight to the source Now I can't speak for all trackers but am damn sure that a many are fully aware of everything and do see when a person is uploading(seeding) but not connected to anybody, shit..even most torrent apps let you know that much. Like I said it can and does work but for every way around things , there is away to catch it. I've been a Mod on a certain site for years,over a decade and know a real bad ass coder,He shut all of that down via a very simple keystrokes and a quick change in the coding of the site ,yeah those apps work but only last as long as the "Announce" and system check does not get ya. Bottom line...It's risky

I understand how trackers work and endorse their fair use. I am looking for this information for a very specific reason that isn't so obvious. I'm too tired to explain why... nor do I believe I should have to. I was simply trying to save myself a head ache of Googling and testing junk apps before landing on a decent one.

You can use google translate to translate the page. I don't need it because I have created an account and after signing in, anything I search, results come sorted by date, which shows my searched plugin on the top by default. And results are in english language. Torrent download button and magnet link can be easily identified. I don't know why people need english version. It's easy. You do all the talking on audioz, and leeching on rutracker.
I have realdebrid account and these days I am unable to download from it. It show me error on 90% of files. Maybe I won't buy realdebrid again because rutracker can give 90% of what I need.
